The coolest sixties show cars have white motors loaded to the gills with chrome...

I have two hemis in the shop so I decided to go ahead and start to prep the roadster block. I cleaned it so clean I could've performed surgery on it.

This is the first block that I painted in car paint- from etching the metal to primer/base coat/ pearl coat/ and the clear.

The cool thing is that the old paint on the block was white... and its white yet again.

I've been cleaning all the parts in an electrolysis tub and polishing them to get them all ready for Chrome...

    I used House of Kolor-
and true 60's pearl white is SILVER PEARL over white.
I used some HOK sixty's era Silver Pearl to boot...
    I LOVE IT.

I think its impossible to actually capture the paint in a picture...

Heres a head shot of the valve covers PRE-Chrome.

I'm polishing the intake and adapter- along with everything else... its either chrome or polished. Thats it.

I got a X-member out of a 37 ford I'm going to slice up and use in the frame.

I cut the whole 37 ford up, took out both front and rear crossmembers- the rear crossmember I'm going to use... -no pics untill its all blasted.

I'm useing a f-1 pedal ***y... and while I was stripping and cleaning parts I went though my shoebox master too...

thats it for now- I have more to post but I'll save it for another thread.

oh, chrome is good. but did you grind the block smooth and remove those casting marks.. its a good since of going over the top and loosing your mind during the engine build. I was there.. you are heading in the right direction... just dont drive it in the rain and you will be fine.. motors have lots of little confined areas that are hard to get rags into.. with white, you will notice it all.. but being painted makes it easier to clean also..

  14. White engines sure make finding the oil leaks easier...

I do like the way they look but I'm scared of doing all that work only to find out it's even more workto keep it clean. Same with black cars. But I will admire your handy work and say it looks great.

I have been pondering a white engine for some time. It would have to be visible for me to do it. I like the looks of that.

Boones I didnt grind all the casting, just cleaned up the rough areas and primed it... up close the paint looks fantastic. I cant wait to get all of this stuff polished and chromed.

Anybody know if any companys are re-poping oil pans for these?

Mutt dog... I promise to fill your mailbox with stuff before the years out.
