Please take a moment out of your busy day today to spare a thought for my darling wife Ginger (MrsA32Flathead on here); shes undergoing a Total Knee Replacement this morning at 8.30am (pst). Shes very young to be having such a major surgery, but has had a long battle with her knee for many years following a bad injury at High School, which was treated badly. Ill keep you up to date if you want to know, but she faces at least2-3 months of rehab & therapy to get her back to normal. Thanks for reading.
Well wishes. I feel for her on that, I'm 22, had leg problems since I was young, doc says I'm gonna need at least one knee replaced by the time I'm 30 or so if I keep on.
I'm sure she will get through it just fine. She's young. My mother had it done on both knees when she was 75, and that was 10 years ago and she's still getting around just fine. Hang in there, you two will be dancing again before you know it !!!
My wife is also having knee problems so I can sympathize with you. We keep trying everything in our power to prolong the surgery. My wife is also young, 40.
My mother in law, my wife, and an aunt had the knee replacements. The surgery techniques used today has been proven sucessful a multitude of times. The therapy is not without pain, but if followed religeously, will return your wife to a pain free world. Best wishes and she will need your support. Jim
As another person with knee problems (blow out in Highschool football) my thoughts are with you and your wife. Hopefully though she'll go through rehab and be pain free after. I know I'm probably headed down the same road.
Thoughts are with you - I also have been told that I need to have a shoulder replacement operation although I am only a young 40. James
I feel for her especially at a young age. But what about you? Your gonna be wearing the apron for a while. Take good care of her and dont let her house go to shit!
My wife Kathy also has mobility problems, so I know where you are at. We will be praying for a quick recovery.
As a relatively-old fart with bad knees, I can definitely sympathize. We'll be thinking good thoughts for her.
My prayers for the both of you. You gona have to help with house work, no let me say, you gona have to do house work for a while. Give her your all, she will need it for a while.
Best wishes for your misses. She should have a good recovery from the surgery because they have finally started to design knees for women that actually fit their anatomy. For years women were given the same knee as men and that caused them to have a rough recovery. They were too big and looked ackward and gave them a long painful recovery. So hopefully your misses gets the better design and it goes smoothly. Good luck and God bless
thoughts are with you. i have a freind that just wrecked his bike and is going through surgery tore out his knee and six inches of bone in his leg. not good. hope your wife gets better.
You seem to be going thru it a bit mate.If she.s anything like my wife there,s never much wrong with her voice box.Thats a little joke there or is it?
Wish her a speedy recovery from a fellow 'bionic' knee owner! I had mine done in 1994 when I made a bit of a hash-up of the Kamikaze Downhill run at Mammoth on my mountain bike. 54.46 MPH through the traps and then the machine and I parted company. I woke up 2 days later in Cedars Sinai trauma department with a mangled knee, titanium plates holding my spine together and the mother of all headaches! The knee's holding up best out of all the repairs and I'm sure that the technique has been improved massively since I had mine - she'll be better than new pretty soon. The other good thing is that she won't have to deal with watching herself on TV in programmes like 'History of the Kamikaze' and she won't have to listen to the narrator say '...it's horrific crashes like this one that heralded the death of the Kamikaze race...' The first time I saw the helicopter tracking shot of my accident was only last year - I nearly puked up my colon when I saw it!
You have my thoughts and prayers. My wife is going in for partial shoulder replacement in a week One of my friends had double knee replacement a few years ago...when she came back to work, not only was she taller and straighter and walking perfectly again, her FACE was transformed. I had never realized before that her face was perpetually distorted by the tension and pain her knees gave her before the repair. These artificial joints are GOOD...in the future, I predict we will all be fileted at birth and fitted with titanium skeletons.
