She found it last year and fell in love...so we bought it.

    This is how it looked

All the mechanicals were already restored by the previous owner.

We have started working on it last november. We can work on it only on free week end but hope to have it in rolling shape for this summer. She wants a traditional late 40s look with modern (well, not 40s like) comfort (it's her car!). to travel accross europe.

The plan is: MII front end, power steering and brakes, triangulated Malibu rear, maybe airbags, keep the 6 because it's all rebuilt, add a TH200 4R, after that top chop, fender skirts,etc,....

    THANK YOU:)

that should make a GREAT late 40s style kustom. i'm going that route with my 47 Chevy coupe. also installing a few modern features underneath like MII and air ride. i'm shooting for a pre-55 "LOOK" though. runnin a 322 Nailhead in mine. was gonna go the hopped up 6 route till the Nail fell into my lap. thats one nice lookin motor you got there.
i just saw an awesome rendering of a 40 Buick by Janne someplace on here. the top is real similar. you should use it for reference on this one. here are the pics...

    keep up the great work.

    Nice!

Thanks for reminding me how much I like those Chevrolets from the late 30's/early 40's.

  8. Nice deal, deffinitely needs the lid lowered!!! I have a '40 pontiac coupe, and it has the same boulbus proportions above the backlight.

Ha, ha. My reputation exceeds me.

Great progress so far Kristoph - already looking good.

Nice solid car and a cool motor too! That would be a blast to bomb around Europe in an early style custom.

    Looking forward to seeing more.

Looks like a good solid car and i'm loving the height of the front and the fat whitewalls on the last pic! :)

The paint patina is awesome on yours Rocky, do you plan to paint it?

here's mine, it's on the way from Colorado to the UK and arrives next week, i've only seen about 6 photos of it so far so can't wait to see it in the flesh!
