Here is a few pics of the wife's car. She was tired of being at shows with me and felling "left out" so she bought this and we drove it home from South Carolina to Ohio. She felt it had too much black ( I never thought that could be a thing) so a buddy fixed her up recently, fresh white on the roof, new white in the spear and all the white is covered in pearl white flake. She pops in the sun. Next the wife wants to get rid of the American Racing wheels for chrome smoothies and whitewalls. FYI, (pic 2)that's her in the background in pink talking about her "cool taillights" and my 71 Montery next to hers. We Love Mercs!
Cool car, and she's right about the wheels need to go. Consider "OE" style chrome steel wheels instead of the smoothies if you can find the right bolt pattern though. That's the look.
Great car! I agree with BamaMav because I don't think I've seen one before either. How bout some torque thrusts or fiesta caps?
Thanks everyone. Well, finding would not be tough, standard 4 1/2" pattern. I agree, but she would want baby moons on them and I figured smoothies would be more cost effective. Ohhhh... the goofy tailpipes are gone in favor of straight 2 1/2" tailpipes
Beautiful car , change the wheels , put on some wheel covers , lower it and add some skirts . That’s what I’d do to it . But it’s Hers and She enjoys it that’s what matters.
If I was still married and if my ex was into cool cars, I’d be getting some a lot That’s a nice ride she has now.
You know these are two year only wonders? Earlier and later mercurys based on ford frame and body. Anyway, exellent choise. Check the bolt circle to be sure. My 57 turnpike cruiser has big 5 circle and i think some models of 59 and 60 has it too.
She needs a set of these.... Full Chrome Five Slot Wheel — Pavement Equipped Ignore the 'sold out' listing, they're made to order.
Your wife is right about the whitewalls. Put in a request for some photoshopped wheels, whitewall width and hub caps on the photoshop thread.
Beautiful ride! Brings back lots of memories riding in the huge rear window as a kid. Dad had a 59 Monterey with a 383.
