Looks like it will be a while before any video Don as my new carbs & heads are still stuck in New York at my shippers, no idea when they will arrive here, they have obviously got more important issues to sort out.

As far as the engines goes I like to be a little different Trevor plus it's a very underrated engine in my opinion.

I took the willys to the Blackpool Rod & Custom show last weekend, this is the first one to be put on in 28 years, hopefully it will be on again next year and grow.

Had been really looking forward to this show as it was a indoor show and havn't done one for years.

We loaded the willys thursday evening (thanks Jason) and set off at 10am friday morning, The M1 was clear and we got to the M6 tollroad services (110miles) 2 hrs later, where we met up with Gary Layton, Larry Ward & the Smoke city guys, Unfortunately the next 130 odd miles was stop/start and raining thanks to the good old M6 :( this took us a further 4.5 hrs

Shaun guided us in by phone as the post code was incorrect, it was raining hard so it was very handy that we could drive straight into the main hall and unload the cars in the dry :D the hall was teeming with people setting up and the organisation really good, the marshalls were really helpfull and nothing was too much trouble.

Once all setup we ventured off to the local Pizzaria for some food and a tour of the famous Blackpool illuminations, they were very impressive !!! and the Smoke city wheeler guys went looking for a local titty bar

Saturday morning we were pleased to see a small quee outside of people waiting to enter, a good sign i thought
The first thing on entering was the very impressive dome in the roof.

There were also various attractions outside on the way in.

From there we wandered by the theatre, very impressive, the inside was lovely but not allowed any pics

On approaching the show you picked up your tickets at the ticket office and then got them checked my the peanut smugglers

The hall quickly filled up with a fair few people and was fairly constant all day.

The daytime entertainment came in the shape of a 3 piece band belting out some great stuff most of the day.

And one of the main man Shaun

Saturday evening after the show closed Shaun had organised a Double decker bus to pickup all the exhibitors from the show and take them on a tour of the illuminations etc etc, on returning everyone was directed upstairs to a room Shaun had set aside with a very good band, disco and resonable bar, everyone got their first drink free which was anice gesture.

All in all i think it was a success, its a shame that Shaun was let down by so many as it could of been even better and obviously Shaun will have learn't from some mistakes.

The only gripe i could think of was the ropes around the cars made it difficult to get good photo's but this will be addressed next year i'm sure.

I for one will look forward to hopefully attending next years show as i'm quite convinced it will be another cracker !!!

I would also like the thank Shaun, Andy and the various helpers for giving us all such an enjoyable weekend, cheers.

Yes it was Eric, It had its problems but nothing major, Next year the people that run The Winter Gardens have allowed the show inside the main building I believe, now let me tell you the inside is something short of spectacular, its all art deco and beautiful.
