  3. I think that when the seat risers are removed from these bodies they can end up any where around these measurements. It took two looks to notice it was your passenger door!! JW

While I was sanding the front and back of the wheels Bob started working on the passenger door.

Both doors will have map pockets but they're pretty small. Since we have to put a new inner skin in the doors anyway we may as well give it some structure too. Recessing the new panel 5/8" will give us a little more room for junk to get lost in there and it stiffened up the door considerably.

If you noticed the pop rivets they're just there to hold everything together. Empty holes will be welded, pop rivets removed then those holes will be welded too.

Outer skin to follow, then a map pocket for the driver's door.

  12. Is there room for a couple of beads to strengthen it and reduce any tincanning?

One thing, I know that Bob knows what he is doing however..... I have found that for
working on the outer skin of the door it is far easier to have the inner panel removed.
That way the metal finishing can be done easier.
The inner panel can go back in after the outer skin is right.

Yes, it will be welded. The rivets are there temporarily.

Absolutely Larry, hence the pop rivets. The new skin will be welded on, the inner panel removed, body work finished, inner panel reinstalled and welded.

Ha! Yep, making progress. And sanding wheels doesn't suck as bad as sanding louvers! Not that I like sanding wheels, either...

  17. Nice work on the new latches but wont the levers get in the way being so high, you cant rest your arm on there and be cool while cruising. JW

You know, that has occurred to me as well. Bob builds everything in stages so it can be changed easily as progress is made with little wasted time or material. I wanted to use the original T release levers, but with how high the mini bear claws have to sit along the B pillar we're going to have to modify the levers some. We'll build the seat to sit REAL low in the body so their final location will have to work around that too.

Things ok with the family? People on these T roadster threads seem to be having a big share of trouble lately.

Thanks for the concern fellas, we truly appreciate it and feel like you guys are family.. Our oldest daughter (21) is 18 weeks pregnant and started bleeding heavily yesterday. And I mean HEAVILY. We took her to the ER, they admitted her and kept her overnight. It looks like things will be okay, but at 18 weeks its too early to "save" the baby the doctors say. If she can get through the next 5 weeks the baby will be in a lot better shape to survive if things go REALLY wrong.

We got her to our house for some R&R this afternoon and Victoria will make sure she takes it easy. Needless to say my weekend will probably be here at home, as it should be. Thanks again.

  24. Yes, my thoughts and prayers will be with number one daughter and her unborn child as with your whole family Eric.
I am using those small bearclaw catches too and want to have the same sort of handle too.

Eric, just to share a little story with you, my daughter had a similar issue and my grandson is now 25 and has his own 18 month old son who is a joy to us all. Hope and pray that it works out as well for you and yours. :D
