    That's a gorgeous pick-'em-up Marc!

  2. For the Fender pick guard material, I bought a blank on eBay, laid it out and had my father-in-law (back when I had one!) cut it on his router.

Happy to help, kinda weird that I clicked over to the classifieds after reading your update and that item was on top?

I've considered that, and that may be the route we take.

Bob sent a few pics last night. He fixed the scratch we put in it last weekend so now I can finish the passenger side.

  8. Well all I can say is Bob did a fantastic job of colour matching the paint. Heck he is a wasted talent and should be building and painting Hot Rods for a living as I think he would do real well....;);)

  9. Killer paint! That color is so close to the maroon I mentioned way back in this thread it has me going on what next car gets the same paint!

Yep, Bob is a very talented man. He has said however, that this will be his very last "customer build". He wasn't going to do this one but REALLY liked my '55 F100. Guess I need to find something else he really likes because I need a deuce chassis for my A Sport Coupe.

Trent, I'm trying to figure out if my COE needs to be this color now. It just might! And maybe my Sport Coupe and my shoebox and my bicycle too!

Just a body on an A chassis. Nothing special, I promise. A little rusty, a little dented, a little ugly.

I seem to remember a T roadster that wasn't anything special to begin with, blooming into a gorgeous hot rod right before our eyes, too!;):D:cool:

Ran down to Las Vegas this morning for meetings, so the wife went shopping.

Stopped over at So Cal and she picked out a five gauge panel that we'll cut a drum skin or pick guard sheet for the pearl look.

She picked out Merc style knobs for the dash accessories and I grabbed a small heater and electric fan.

    Updates later this week.

  18. As a Drummer I didn't think of the vintage pearl drum shell covering, I had a kit in 74 with it. It will look killer !!:cool: :D JW

No pics, but I got the passenger side wet sanded tonight with 1000 grit and blended the repair in.

Bob and I laid out the '32 style dash he'll be building, where the gauges and switches go, and where the stereo is going to hide. Gotta have cruisin' tunes but I don't want to see anything unless I'm sitting in the car, ya know?

Lately my kids have been coming up to help. During the wet sanding process there's not much for them to do, but they're great with the air hose helping dry the freshly sanded and wiped part for inspection. It sure is nice having them around and I hope they're learning as we go.

    More this weekend...

Guys, thank you for all of the comments and interaction. I truly appreciate it!

Went to Bob's this afternoon to work on the passenger side some more.

Of course I was wearing my hot rod safety shoes.

After round two I rolled it out in the sun.

Earlier in the week Bob fitted the brake lines.

Now you're all up to date. Although the body has been cut and buffed I still have lots of small detail areas the need to be done before it's polished. Still, I can't believe how amazing it looks. Bob has done a great job and I found out I'm pretty good at wet sanding!

  23. Now you are showing off!! Looks superb and you look four feet tall:eek::rolleyes::D JW

So.... I'm thinking about sending in an application for GNRS 2016. It'll be a push, but I think we can make it. Anyone know if the Suede Palace has room left? I've called a few times and only get voicemail. Finally left a message and haven't heard back.

Got a call from the GNRS crew today. The Suede Palace is NOT full if anyone is interested. They're still accepting applications and will decide who's in/out very soon. Don't know if Victoria's T will qualify since it'll be on radials but we'll give it a shot.
