  2. More power, I mean higher...cool. I have always wanted to build a shop that had an old gas station theme and I have Mrs W's approval for if and when I can.:cool::D JW

Seriously, hope it all comes together for ya. It's gonna be great.

Let us know if you do a garage journal thread. It will be nice to follow along. If I was close enough I'd gladly help and the steak would be welcomed also. :D
Wouldn't that be a story to tell if a whole bunch of us got together for a good old fashioned Hamb style shop raising ?

  7. I don't remember seeing any of the fancy curved glass stations around Kansas City. The ones around my neighborhood (Hickman Mills) were like the one in this tiny shot. Cinder block construction and crusty old guys working out in the bays. 'Course everyone had their own memories of their local joints. I'm confident my hat will remain undigested!

Wow, the resemblance is uncanny! Now I'm questioning if I saw this picture before and and subconsciously based my ideas off of it. They say there are no more original ideas and they might be right!

Whoever the hell "they" are. Damn they.

Tires being mounted and balanced today. Baby steps.

I love having a kid in the local high school welding and automotive programs! The school has a real nice shop with Coates mounting and balancing equipment.

Quick run up the hill tonight because I'm an idiot and had to see how the uh looked on the chassis. Yes, I'm like 12 sometimes. And I still laugh at fart jokes.

Bob has the doors in the final prime, ready for paint. Trunk lid is next, then grill shell.

  15. That's a funny thing as I must be about 12 also, I cant wait to try something either. They look much cooler on the car and when the body is lowered on that frame I don't think I could contain my self.:cool::D JW

Patiently waiting for the big body on the chassis day. :) Just as I'm about to start taking mine apart for finishing.

  21. I didn't get home from work until 4:30 (PT) and still was able to get one! I figured this set would've gone as quickly as the first two had.

C'mon, you sat on the frame rails and made vroom-vroom noises, twisting the air steering wheel, right?

Well, today didn't go exactly as planned. Austin and I began by measuring, marking, and drilling holes for the floor pans.
    1443854148579.jpg
Got them all pilot drilled, then drilled for the tap, tapped a few and Victoria called. She was locked out of the house.

Fingers crossed for more progress tomorrow. The St. George Marathon is going on and all roads towards Bob's house are closed until about 2:00 pm.

Thanks @SLAMIT. Wheels are '49-54 Ford passenger car, common shoebox wheels. Fronts are 15", rears are 16".

Front tires are Firestone F560 from Coker in 155R15. They're about $85 each.

Rear tires are Firestone Transforce HT, 215/85/16. They're available everywhere and run about $135 each. Real popular with the dually guys and available in a lot of other sizes too.
