Nothing much to report. A few small parts have arrived and I've been extending wires. Damn that's a slow and tedious job!

I did dig my shoebox out of the garage earlier this week.

And took a photo of my cabover for a buddy. [IMG]

    I'm slackin'. And I'm exhausted.

I did. Too hard to push with four flats, LOL.

So this happened last night. I swear, if it weren't for bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all!

  10. Must be a Super Deer as it appears to be in better condition than your truck.
Glad of no injuries, other than the Deer. JW

Skin that sucker, and there's your upholstery for the Roadster.

Didn't anyone tell you that a rifle works better than a truck for hunting deer Eric ;) :D
    Hope the game warden doesn't get you, I don't see a tag.:D
By the way that JW character has been telling that Fred guy that his build over on that ugly thread is the best thing going on the Hamb....
Without even thinking of the other T build threads ;) :D:D

  13. You are telling tales:rolleyes:, I actually said ''Fred, your build is one of the best things happening on the HAMB at present'' which left room for a few other super cool T builds, you can now argue over who's those are.:D:D JW

Guess I'll have to buy a Ford Super Duty to take on the Super Deer! I'm so done with this truck. I love it but I think it's cursed!

Great idea! Law enforcement didn't want us to keep it. They have a group of voluteers who will butcher it and throw it in the sheriff office freezer so they can distribute it to local less fortunate families. I was okay with that.

Funny thing, we'd been out hunting coyotes for hours and my rifle was on my side. My wife commented shortly before this happened "It's weird. We usually see a ton of antelope, elk, deer, wild horses and all we've seen are four jack rabbits!" Then that doe found us.

Stood around talking with the local sheriff and Nevada Highway Patrol for 90 minutes waiting for the tow truck. GREAT guys. They share our political views 100%. I told them both I was a licensed CFP holder and armed, they both thanked me. And boy did we talk about the election... LOL

And Fred's car is bitchin' for sure... but I think I'm going to damage Jeremy's OTHER hand for not mentioning YOURS....

Ha ha ha! BUSTED! I love ya brother!

I may be biased but my build isn't even one of my favorites here. I love seeing what you guys are doing!

  16. Its what you guys are doing that gives me inspiration.:cool:
As ours are 26-27 T's I don't regard them as Buckets, I never have. JW

And you, us! I agree. Never did consider these "buckets", just T roadsters, T coupes, T pickups....

Monday I had mentioned if it weren't for bad luck....

I took the black/flamed roadster to a church meeting Thursday. Pulling out of the parking lot a scraped a little then felt a THUMP.

Yeah, that's the drain plug portion of a cast aluminum oil pan.

Shut it off and didn't hurt the engine but there's six quarts of 10W30 all over the sidewalk, street and parking lot still.

Went to Bob's today and kept lengthening wires. Im getting close to having all the dash wires long enough now. This is tedious and time consuming!

Really enjoyed reading your entire "I didn't build it" build. It's obvious that you've put a lot of work into this too. I do have a question, does the original agreement with Bob still stand, "55 F100 in exchange for a 27 build?"

Man, that's one heck of a deal... I've helped a bunch of friends with their hotrods, and if I called in all the "man, IOU's" they wouldn't come close to the work Bob is doing on your wife's roadster! It's a good thing I do it for fun... You may have to take Bob out for a steak (or roadkill) dinner!

Oh, BTW... great build, can't wait to see it finished!

Thanks man! Yes the deal stands. I think I took him the truck and title the day after I took him the roadster. It's all his now.

Bob is a GREAT guy and a great friend. I definitely owe him a steak dinner. Or ten!

Kind of a bad month you are having there. But look at it this way "next month can only be BETTER"

  23. I too have gone completely away from the " Bucket " terminology and with no regrets. I think of those more modern (cartoon) type Ford T's ('23-'25) as Buckets. Hell, I sound so snobbish now don't I but I'm sure Gary and Chip would pat me on the back and reassure me.
Shame about the sump but a lesson for your lovely wife to remember when she gets hers to drive, Got to be careful about ground clearance all the time.

  24. I had a alloy pan on my 301, was always worried of something flicking up off a front tire and cracking it. I change it mostly because they are so 70's and 80's.
Glad you didn't do it when I was in it, long hot walk back. Never a fan of the drain plug being on the bottom.
I was going to ask if you still had that roadster..........so that will be a yes then. JW

    Seriously! Wish me luck!

"T bucket" conjures up pictures of Fad T's in my mind, never a '26-27.

I've always had really low cars since I was a kid. Everything I had was slammed. My dad loved hot rods and I could only afford to work on the one car I had, so there were a long string of mini trucks and full sizes, mixed with an occasional lowered car. I've dropped a few torsion bars, peeled off more road dots than I could count, but never done that much damage. Sucks, really, but I already have another pan ready to go on. :)

They look pretty good, but nobody ever gets under a car to see what kind of oil pan you're running, LOL.
Thanks brother! How's your hand healing?

Spent several hours with the wire stretcher again today. Didn't take pictures cuz it's boring, but I am making progress! Only have the turn signal group to lengthen and I can start dressing the harness and connecting all the ends.

I have one of those on my right hand. First job out of high school in 1964. Got into an argument with a machine and took about an inch and a half off the middle finger. It's been so long that it's been short that I don't miss it.
