Thanks fellas. I kept all of the other cars I have. I've definitely picked myself up, dusted myself off and have been plowing forward. Life is good. This is not where I planned or expected to be at this point in my life but I am happier than I've been in years.

I have another house on a 1/2 acre with a shop. Life continues, more builds to come! Next up is a 26' Sleekcraft daycruiser restoration/hotrod project that doesn't belong here.

I'm still around. Hit me up!

It's not HAMB friendly so it may not stay here for long, but here's the '26 Sleekcraft. I also bought a '24 cabin cruiser that has a BBC and Bravo One drive that I'll be swapping into the Sleekcraft soon.

Trust me, there are many more hot rods in my future. I still have my '50 Ford Tudor, my '46 Super Deluxe coupe, my two Model A's, my '54 Chevy COE...

  5. Sucks, sorry, but it's good because you get to move on and do it to it. We'll keep an eye open for your next postings. If you ever make to PHX give us a shout and we'll see what we can make happen.

  7. Damn man! That situation sux. I know, been there myself 5 years back. I kept the cars, she got the cash. Much happier now, with way better partner that digs hot rods and doesn't care what I want to buy and actively encourages me. Retired from working now(long story), get to play on cars all day if my back let's me. I haven't been on here for quite a spell, my build threads got locked because I upset people with my choice of wheels and suspension on a couple of projects. It's a shame because I really enjoyed sharing and writing about the shit that we do.
Chin up mate. Life gets better, day by day. IMG_20200329_123534.jpg

Well Eric, That truly sucks. I know you didn’t want the sympathy posts but it’s really hard not to do so because I’ve been where you were. The crushing knowledge of infidelity is tough to overcome.

I’m really glad to hear that you are coming out the other side and doing well.

It takes some time but we manage it and life is good.
Hang in there buddy and keep on letting us know what you’re up to from time to time.

Eric, glad to hear you are soldiering on - it is one of the hardest things to go through for sure...mine bankrupted me financially and psychologically...still not back where I should be but hoping I get there one day...

I don't know anything.... but... fixed lots of cars in my 70 yrs... the first thing I would have done would be put the car on jack stands in the front , un hook the spring... and cycle the suspension and see whats not working, then you could un hook the drag link and see if thaats the cause... I see so much wrong looking and would have to actually check the car with the problem... like going to the dentist on line.. you're still gonna have the same tooth ache when you sign off... but you will know all kinds of things about teeth

  16. I worked on the car twice while there and i worked out exactly what was wrong with the front end and gave Eric a to do list before i left and your reference to doing it on line is so wrong, you didn't read the thread very well did you !! JW

I finished it and it’s so much fun. It’s all hand built by me with the front part of a 26 T tub. I built everything from the doors back with a 4 “ stretch in the back of the body for leg room.
It’s actually quite comfortable for a T RPU.
If you like you can check out my build thread.

I know his wife and would rather stay out of that part,.. as far as the car goes, I did get it to start....kinda... there's paint thinner gas in the tank.. and carb had a stuck needle and seat...all the trans fluid leaked out... pretty lot of angle on the motor install...bad battery and so one...I keep thinking of buying it and fixing it... but I would have to change way to much to fit my style...

here's another question, for bob the builder...

why is the motor in at such an angle that it dumps out all the trans fluid??? and steering box mounted 1 inch off the ground...was it to keep from having to make a tunnel in the floor????

  26. I'm starting to find you offensive. I won't tell you Bob's last name as I'm sure you can work it out. I did a small amount of actual work on the car as i wasn't there long and only had time to flip the Drag Link to bring the arcs closer together, Eric did even less as he is a very busy guy. What i did do was to go over the front end of the Roadster with Eric and found a list of issues.1 The perch bolts were very worn in the axle or both. 2 The heads of the bolts that mount the lever shocks arms to the spring shackles were sitting on top of the main leaf of the spring..... only I noticed that, did you find those ? AS for the other things you mentioned... you will need to talk to Bob. JW
PS; from left is me, Eric and Bob, (2016) at Bobs place.

  27. @2FORCEFULL, please don't disrespect Eric's thread and those that have been part of his journey with the Roadster. Buy the car or don't buy the car that's you choice but just show some respect on here. JW

let what go????? I was an hour on the phone last night with the owner of the car still try'n to sell it to me... I'm the one that fought 50 mph winds and went across the desert cash in hand to get a car that "NEEDS NOTHING" "PRO BUILT" "READY TO DRIVE AND ENJOY" I'm the one that got there and the carbs were froze, varnish in the tank, 10' puddle of trans fluid under the car,10 yr old dead battery, out dated tires..... and then have the guy there tell me "It's got a horrible death wobble" and he's the one that dirrected me to this thread ...So,.. as Of last night... I'm still talking to Victoria about me buying the car,.. but as I told her, and will tell anybody,... there's a lot I would have to do to the car /redo! Is it wrong to ask the QUESTIONS???... before I buy it..... I've built many a car ground up... but,.. do I wanna pay for a car that needs nnothing, then have to blow it apart and start over??? ....but looking at Bobs work... he knows whats going on and does nice work.... I just think there's more to the story... maybe some of eric's friends messed with it after it left bobs shop... to me it's just a pile of parts... and I know I can fix it.... but wanna find out all I can before I lay out the fat stacks... Wind is blowing 50 mph again so as of now , I'm not going to get the car...but still in neg. with victoria....she sold the house and is moving to the mid west... and some one is gonna end up with the roadster... Old school hotrodders used to look out for each other...and didn't hold back known issue's just to help their buddy sell their car....Eric nor bob have anything to do with this car, other than answer questions asked...

So, last night it was ......"Let me think about it,I'll let you know tomorrow... sound like it not gonna be good to get involed with the mess...

  29. Have you tried to contact Eric... most likely not, there is nothing hard to fix on that car as i have been over it, under it and have ridden in it so apart from Eric i most likely know it best as it stands now. It has nothing to do with Eric anymore as it was built for Victoria mostly by Bob, she knows who he is and how to contact him. So lets leave it there and just go and buy something or move on. Victoria is the owner, deal with her. Also I'm not holding info just looking for the privacy issue. A private message may have worked better than moaning but I'm done with you now and since its not Eric's car how can i be helping a Buddy sell their car by withholding known issues . JW

Find this still interesting build & followup. Looking at start now 11 year process & possible buyer questioning what he has found. Did a quick skim look at past posts. Maybe a lot to learn & watch out for other builders or buyers of hot rods.
