it's not how it should be done AT all. The dumpster-rod is one of those "just 'cause you can don't mean you should" builds. some things are best left on the drawing board.

Why yes I do Del. When I went to California in January, a certain somebody was grilling me for how ugly the cars were in North Carolina. This is just more fuel for the fire and I am starting agree. For every dude that gets it here in the great state of NC there are 100 dudes that are gluing fake Hilborn stacks on a cake pan and topping off there Holley 650's...or using a dumpster for a body. Man I love this place!
A person that walks around wearing a pile of **** on thier head will get attention too. Doesn't make it a cool thing to do. I think 20+ years of building experience could have been put to better use.

The old dumpster mobile is ugly....you better not park that somewhere and some ****er for waste management hooks to your *** and sends you a flying. I agree with others that your talent could have been used on something else.

C'mon guys...give pooroltony and anybody who's ever poked a little fun at themselves a break. I was parked near him Fri & Sat, and spoke to him a few times about his "creation". Although I dunno the guy, and my opinion don't mean much either, there's no question in my mind he was just having fun. He wasn't trying to p*** the thing off as a work of art or anything he or anybody else should take seriously for that matter. I think he knew he was "wearing a turd-pile on his head". But, many enjoyed his turd-pile, and appreciated him for having the 'nads to bring a little humor and a whole lot of smiles to the day. Yes, he wasted a little time and money having some stupid fun. Whatdahell are any of us doin, saving the planet, curing cancer? No....in the whole big scheme of things, we're all just having stupid fun. Some of you guys take yourselves and your hobby waaayyy too seriously. Lighten up boys, life's too short as it is.

So there were about 3000 cars at the show, with about 50 rats, the rest were rods and customs. As seen from this thread the rats are still getting all the attention while the others are getting no comments...

Thanks, but his trash recepticle was way more popular than my trash pile! I think what made that show so much fun was the throngs of spectators from outside the hobby. That's why Pooroltony's creation was so wildly popular....it was DIFFERENT! And probably why it pissed off some guys who's cars hardly got a second look.

The first ones are "almost" p***able, but billet "wanna be" Caddy wheels and vogues are wrong on an old car. The second are definitely wrong, and super duper extremely rancid ugly.
