lowphat53, that is one beautiful car, thats why I took a bunch of pics of it. I like lots of different looks, but there is no way I could afford to do a car to that quality. The big wheel package looks great together but I'm going to make my Impala a day driver and hauler for one of my other cars. Don't think those wheels would last too long haul-en a trailer in pot-hole New England. I'll buy the beer at next years show...
I like the dumpster car. At least it makes no bones about the fact that some guys wasted a bunch a time and money on a pile of ****. Skip the clamped on vise-grips and just go right to the dumpster. This on the other hand, damn, yes, I vote hamb friendly. That is how you treat an SBC properly. At least i think that is what it is. It is hard to tell, it looks so nice.
Nope. Chevy. There was a Goodguys Gazette that had a photo of the engine on the cover and it is GORGEOUS!
Okay There were about 3,000 cars there. Lots to see, swap meet, etc.. There were a lot of really nice street rods, not filled with bondo. There were also a lot of nice stock 50's cars. Even nice muscle cars etc... And............ plenty of nice cars guys on The Hamb would like. I was surprised by how many nice mild customs there were. Some nice 50's cars, just lowered, some wheels, and a couple old school hop up upgrades. Yes, if I could have unbolted the wheels and a couple of things on a lot of the cars there, they would have been more my and your personal style. But the California style big billet wheel thing is still alive and well, though starting to dwindle. But, I am going to focus on some things we all like, well no one likes them all. Also, the weather and location was as good as it could be anywhere, bar none. Wil www.sakowskimotors.com shop www.ridefree.com motorcycle tours I drove the 63 olds family truckster. Clean old Palm Spring reliable car, and you get the good parking.... though the surf was flat ( worse part of the show )

I really like that purple wagon above. Reminds me of a relative of the purple Kaucher Kustoms Ford.

I might as well post some more. My feet sure hurt from walking so much.... The people are so nice in North and South Carolina. So many different cars and people, all having a great time together with much mutual respect and cl*** towards each other. You just don't see this anymore. I have lived in North Carolina for 1.5 years now, and I am still blown away by people's civility and decency. Texans are another stand up group. wil www.sakowskimotors.com www.ridefree.com

I am speachless as the **** I am seeing on the first pages Before I moved from SC we had one or two ****boxes that would show up at that show (normally streetrodders trying to jump on a bandwagon but not understanding the traditional movement). not sure what is worse the dumpster diver or the rebar-vise grip unit. then again there are a few streetrods in the pictures that were just as bad.. At least the trashcan ride is not full of rust and an obvious attempt at trying to build the biggest POS possible like some of those other rides. some nice rides being shown in the later shots.. looks like the new location is better then the dead mall it used to be at
Okay, just a couple more. I have a lot of cars I want to show, but I am editing it way down. Just wanted to show how they really roll in The Carolinas. Though, you can find every type of car here. For sure not the same old on every car. Have fun. Had a great time hanging with East Coast Artie. He knows the best Italian spot for dinner.

Maybe one more. You know, the dumpster is sort of Big Daddy Roth style, if he did it, everyone would think it was cool.... Talked to the dumpster guys, they were having fun.. you are allowed to have fun you know... wil www.sakowskimotors.com www.ridefree.com There were only a small handful of hacked up rides actually. I think they are all posted here on this thread out of 3,000 cars ?!

This car belongs to our late fellow Tri-City Rod & Custom club member and past NSRA Southeastern director,,Will Drake who p***ed away last year,, It's great to see his wife drives it on a regular basis. HRP
Everyone check out the Rims on The River thread for the show coming up soon in Wilmington, NC. A real nice show in historic downtown, a short drive from the beach. And if anyone want to come by the shop, let me know. Maybe a cruise to the beach from the shop for breakfast, then to the show. Wil www.sakowskimotors.com www.ridefree.com
