    Miller's car.....NO , but not a bad guess

The 6 banger GMC was the original engine but it didn't stay that way long...
It was replace with a 1958 SB Chev truck motor with a chain driven super charger.
BUT It is best know for running without the blower.

    Here are a few hints...
It ran for the first time at Paradise Mesa Drag Strip in San Diego & was soon running all over the USA
The first owner was a Bean Bandit ,but it wasn't Joaquin Arnett

YOU ARE CORRECT on the car , It is the car Jess Van Deventer drove to 3 championships in B/Mod roadster in the early 1960's

BUT do you know who the guys are in the photos???
Jess is not in the photos & he did not take the photos....
As much as it was put out in the magazines , Jess did not built the car.
The 3 guys in the photos built the car in that little garage in Imperial Beach Calif.

Here are a few photo of the car with the blown SB chevy ( Before Jess got the car )

PS: the number on the car 502 was kind of a joke between the builders...
The term "502" refers to the vehicle code section that was used for Driving Under the Influence many years ago in California.

In the first photo with the 2 guys standing behind the frame...
The owner Jack Mclenachen is on the right & that is my dad Terry Chenowth on the left.
Terry is the one that laid out & fabricated the frame & them hand made or modified salvaged parts to built the digger.
The guy sitting in the car is Ron Shoemaker
    The little garage is behind
the house my mom & Dad rented on the corner of Granger & Grove in Imperial Beach Calif.
The guy in the sun glasses next to the blown chev motor is Jack Mclenachen again
Jack is a VINTAGE Bean Bandit , lololol

Here are a few more photos of the car before Jess Van Deventer got the car....
