There is a link at the bottom of the interview where Ryan encourages us to discuss the article in question. Does this mean we are allowed to guess who it is? Because I believe it to be a guy with the initials X.X. I will gladly post the name of whom I think it is, but far be it from me to out anyone who wishes to keep their anonymity. I am happy with anticipation of a possibly well done movie illustrating our hobby in a light that is relevent and with an eye on reality. *I cannot spel gud. My ***le should be Mystery Guest interview...
His reluctance to post the interview makes me think that if you might know who this is, you should keep it to yourself. (the 'Discuss this on the HAMB' link is a template link that appears on all of his entries.)
you can guess for all i care... i figure if you actually know the guy, you would know not to come clean... personally, i think its all a little silly... but he is a super nice guy and very p***ionate... ill support the movie for sure.
I know who he is, I've talked with him a couple of times. He does have P***ION and not in the Mel Gibson sort of way, more than alot of the **** talkin' newbs the HAMB has seemed to attract laltley can claim (sorry for the back handed rant) and I will respect his desire for annonimity. That said, knowing him, the movie WILL RULE!!! when it comes out...GO SEE IT ****ERS!!!!
I love the mystery guest's stuff, it should be very cool. I'll feel like a ***** if he's not who I think it is, but that's OK, It wouldn't be the first time.
Oooh, oooh, I know. I didn't know he was a HAMBster, though. JF, are you sticking with the ***le that was mentioned back in December? And when's it gonna be out? dan
There are quite a few 'famous' folks on the HAMB. One of the things that attracts them (and keeps them here) is that even tho they're not completely anonymous - they're left alone. It's that part of the HAMB at***ude that makes it cool. Nice interview, Ryan! Always cool to be on the front end...
All I care about is that there will be made a film as described by Mr. X. Only one problem though. I do not think it will be run on theaters over here in Norway. That means I have to wait until the DVD comes out, while you lucky fu..s can see it much earlier. I say go directly to DVD on eccentric material like this. Keep up the good work AMEN Paul
Yeah, JF is who it is. I read Variety and the Reporter sometimes, and they talked about this a couple of years when he (it's a he) started working on this; also www.imdb.com has the answer, although all they have is the ***le. Does the tagline "Get a Nightlife" mean anything to you guys? Or a movie made in 1996 with a '64 Comet convertible in it? (More stupid clues.) I have to say, I'm real ambivalent about this; I'm between cars myself but I still happen to think that hot rods--and customs--are about what a bunch of guys do and did in their garages, on the dry lakes, on the salt, and then on the street. Not so much on film. Theo
Ok. I'll admit I don't know who you're all talking about. But what I do know is that all this talk makes the HAMB even more interesting. Especially since now the rodders of the world have the scoop, well, sorta. I could guess and I might be right. Either way, I'll just sit here quitely humble and proud in the fact that I heard it here first. Vance
I humbly apologize for starting this thread. I should have known better and feel like a tool. Not a high quality Snap-On or Matco tool.... a shoddy, poorly made one.
You mean like that old adjustable wrench that I have that only says MADE IN CHINA and the adjusting screw moves, but won't hold the jaw in place for the amount of time it take to adjust it and then get it on the nut? Yeah, I hate those too. I only keep it around to make me appreciate my Craftsman tools. Vance
i'd remain anonymous too. it's a lose/lose situation,if the movie is good you get mobbed by ***-kissers and rockasilly greaser wannabe posers,if it ends up bad you get crucified on the HAMB...
Yeah exploitation, that's what we need. To tell you the truth, I love finding out who these men were during the late 30's and up to around 1955. Searching every article in the Magazines that may have shedded some light during those times. AHRF is awesome! My opinion, I could care least about this mystery guest, Hey this isn't the dating game. In fact i know of this person. Ken
It'd be hard, I think, not to know who this is about if you been paying attention. Not sure where I first heard of it, probably here on the HAMB. Anyway, I didn't know he was a HAMBER- too cool. Hey Mystery Guest- You need background cars? Also, the ***le alludes to a particular person, who it seems was real. true? or is this person a mythical character created to sell more war bonds in WWII? You can PM me with the answers if you want. Looking forward to seeing it get done...
I figured it out!! Wow! Now there's going to be a lot of "You know you're a HAMBer if..." jokes... ...j/k
