my opinion ""::: Lotta ugly parts.. I like chrome bumpers, less tail pipes and more traditional headlight treatment, hate roof scoop, license /trunk lid treatment, stupid mirrors, spot lights, and those God-awful head rests on da seats..

Never saw side pipes like that when I was young,

If it is your thing, and the price is right, snatch it up. It would have to be damn cheap for me to look at since there is a whole bunch of ugly that needs to be scraped off.

  5. Go by and let Mercury Charlie look at it,,,or even just ask him..

  6. More is not always best. Either side pipe it or rear pipe it but don't do both. The bumpers are the worst. I would not buy it. But I also have different taste in kustoms and the way they should look. If you like it buy it. Maybe your getting it so cheap you can fix all the weird illusions someone had after falling down and bumping their head.

Sure doesn't trip my trigger. Too much going on, not a fan of lack of bumpers, headlight peaks. Id want to change it a lot.

get someone who knows cars inside and out, to check it out inside and out. Know what you're getting into before you get in too deep.

If the chop was done well and it was built from a solid car and the price is right might be a good way to go. Potentially easier to unfunk that car then to weld up a rot box or bring back one back from the dead

  18. Odd car still has the flathead in it yet has a bunch of modern style body modifications to it. The interior looks like something out of a '80's Cadillac. $40,000 doesn't seem like a screaming deal with all the work I would consider needs to be done to it.

For that money I would buy something like these all day long ( for the price of the second one you could have it chopped and still be in the ball park)before I bought that thing:

Added pics, more great stuff. Steering wheel some day could be made more retro just for in side an better driving{dose not look like power steering has been added?,part of what made them drive OK was big 17in. or so steeringwheel an they look good vs the new style on it now is too small an looks wrong. I like the AC and the seats too,if headrests were hinding in the trunk or a trashcan LOL . Just a very cool looking car overall ,but for the few tiny EZ to fix things. Love color too !
PS,those little aircleaners may look cool, but fact they dirty up fast and make car run bad when dirty. I'd go with bigger cleaner ,but keep too older types. Been there done that game way back.

I like the second car much better myself. 40 grand for that other car? Forty thousand dollars is a lot of money to spend unless it's pretty darn close to what you want. Maybe you like the interior and bumpers and tailpipes. I don't judge. At one point someone spent some money on that car and when I was a little kid in the eighties I woulda lost my mind if that car drove by me.

there are a lot of cars out there for sale these days...you should be able to find what you want, for 40k. Patience is the key.
