Anyone know who made this speaker grille? I’ve got this one and it’s cool but there’s no brand name on it anywhere.

  2. Dimensions ? Looks rather robust for a speaker grille.

I agree with 34 Gaz , it looks industrial or military to me. Is it cast?

It’s aluminum and the 3 ribs are steel.
    Its 8.5 x 5

  6. Drive-in movie speaker?

  7. My dad had a '54 Pontiac with a single rear speaker about that size and shape in the "parcel shelf" under the back window, behind the seat. I believe the speaker was an optional upgrade. (?) I'm not positive about the grille details but the shape is right. The screen mesh was flocked and fuzzy like yours. This makes me think that yours is probably an early 50s GM offering.
I remember accidently spilling my orange soda in it while at a drive-in movie and neglecting to tell my dad. The mesh screen was steel and the sugar coating caused it to rust away but the grille did hold up to my "endurance testing".

I recall them in '40s cars in the package tray, way back when you could still hit small town yards full of what you needed.
