I have been digging in my storage room again and came across 3 bundles of trim that I bought years ago. They are dirty and had shrink wrap on them. It appeared they were all used stainless trim pieces, but when I unwrapped them, some are NOS pieces with a tiny bit of brown paper still on some of them. There was only 1 number I could read and it was 1154636. I have not been able to find that anywhere. I am quite sure some or most is 40s-50s Mopar, but there was a 51 Chevy Deluxe LF fender trim in with it. I am attaching pictures of 1 piece and I don't know if anybody would recognize it, but everyone here is so good, I thought I would give it a try. It has a quite distinctive shape and it is long, measures 71 1/4" overall, appears to be 1 5/16" wide. The one end has the flared out part where it slips over something else, so whatever it is off from, it must be something long. I don't know if I will ever figure out what most of it is for, but this long piece is kinda interesting. I only quick cleaned the 2 ends for pics but it does have some shelf scuffs but is probably quite good if cleaned up. Pictures of shiny parts always seem to make the part look like junk when they really aren't that bad. Thanks for any help.
Belt trim off a dodge Tje flair is where it joined the part that went around the bottom of the backlight . mid early to mid 50’s is my guess
Thanks for the tip. I looked at pictures online and up until 52, the Dodge had "bolt on" rear fenders so that trim would be different. I have a 54 here and that is not the same. I have seen 56 trim also and it is not shaped like this. I might be missing something. I will most likely never know what it fits. Thanks.
There’s a HAMB member who deals in trim. But danged if I can remember the screen name. He usually posts in threads about Hershey, Carlisle, so must be “out that way”. He might know if you could track him down.
I will have to try to find him. I have those 3 groups plus probably another 50-100 pieces of trim I have removed over the years. Most of the stuff I removed have been marked. I have almost thrown it all in the scrap a few times, but just can't bring myself to do it. I just don't have much luck selling it, even dirt cheap. Thanks for the tip.
