What work is she doing on the Merc? This thread is loosely based on a Merc project, but has all the trappings of just a plain old RANT. Also, what is with all the profanity!

Show some cl*** and technical content. Isn't that what this forum is all about...sharing ideas and experience about traditional rides? Just my opinion. You don't have to agree with it.

Thanks for that. The previous owner actually cleaned it up a fair bit I believe, fitted tacho (but I didnt want anything too modern) had a new wiring lume fitted and he also fitted the desoto 11 tooth grill etc. They offered it to me for sale after I had hounded them for ages and gave her up to buy their 1st home :). I promised Id do my best to get her up to standard as A: I have the means and B: Im willing to put my hands to anything.

Too busy playing with their peckers and model cars.

  4. This IS a good forum. I've been here about 9 years and doing these cars since they were new. Like you I know enough about things to get the job done very well. I also learned "here" not all car guys are Smart enough to take good advise. I enjoy spreading what my years at it have taught me. Don't let some **** derail you. Stick around and enjoy this place at your own level, screw the Key Board Bad ***es. Even the best professors can't teach the Village Idiot how to wright. I've learned to be very careful who I try to coach.
Nice job on the frame horns, and keep posting what you're doing.

The profanity is based upon opinions of others putting me down as a tradesperson. And what have I done? I dunno? More in 2 days than most do in 2 months. Front of Car fully dismantled, Radiator replaced with larger Aluminium Custom one, Dangerous Battery relocated, Dash Removed so I can sheetmetal new panel, Butchered Ch***is now reinforced and safe, Steering removed and cut down so it no longer rubs on wishbone, Engine lifted and sitting crane, Body Schutz removed from inner doors and 1 hell of a long ordering list underway. You my sir are a little bit of a killjoy. Call me what you want but I took a Frankenstein and will turn her into a gem...........dont believe me? watch this space.............OR DONT!

if you were located in Kansas instead of Oz, i could use some experienced hands like that to work on my Dodge. 21 days aint enough time to do all the work i want to do, with my short experience.

Big thanks to Chefbiz62 for helping find the model of my Steering Wheel. It belongs to a 51 Hudson Hornet. I am keeping it in my car but looking at getting it refurbished :)

Today welded up holes and smoothed ch***is (looks great) pulled doors and Rear Quarter Panels off her and it was a beautiful sight! You would not believe how rust free this beautiful car is? The more I do the more I wonder why someone didnt spend the time to do her properly? Removed the plastic fuel cell, tail lights and doors. Started to chip away at the freaky amount of bog her roof............there I found the most amazing show of master fabrication Ive ever seen hahaha check out the photos! I have never seen more BOG or MICKY as we affectionally call it here. and the welds, cuts and plates well see for yourself. Today finished with me stripping back the layers of paint and bog she is near bare metal. Tomorrow (Yes Sunday lol)time remove shell from ch***is. Its in too nice of a condition to not do it to the best of my ability now :) After shell leaves ch***is it will start so I will post more photos tomorrow night. CHop Chop wish me luck

Thats a tough save for sure, good luck with it, I dont know what you are going to do for windows on the sides and in the doors....gonna be hard to make that roof look right, lots of work ahead of ya! Glad you got it instead of whoever had it in the first place, shame they made such a mess out of a good car. Jim
