Went to the N. Cal. Kit Car Club Show today. Got into a conversation with the President of the club. I asked how come I see no 32-36 Ford kit cars here. He said, "Those guys (Hot Rodders) don't like to mingle with us, even tho they ***emble their three-window, five-window coupes and roadsters from a kit. They even ***emble store-bought metal bodies and usually fibergl*** bodies on an aftermarket ch***is. There is just no comradery." I think I realize why there is no comradeship. I mainly saw exotic British and european replicas from the early 20's to late 50's, with american power trains Ford, GM, Cadillac, Chrysler Hemi. Yeah, the show is judged and trophies are awarded for the best handcrafted cars. And it would take an american kit car such as a Pierce-Arrow, Duesenburg, Packard , LaSalle, Auburn, Cord, to get the judges attention. These kit car builders don't mind busting a knuckle wrenching. I was truly amazed at the craftmanship, welding, metal shaping, engineering, etc
