n00bie from the pimple in the Pacific NZ

  1. Yuh. Names Deon, mates call me Mackaz, Im 34 got a missus and 2 demonic daughters hehe. Anyways accumulating bits for a budget rod, got a 4L all aluminium pushrod V8 out of a Rover, (bad choice I know but got it for free) a 5speed manual from an australian Holden, a diff out of an australian Ford Falcon, (8" lsd with discs) body going to be along the lines of a 23 Willys (gotta be a 4 seater for obvious reasons) Anyway, primo forum, and say NO TO CHROME!

    There are plenty of other sites for that .
    They not Traditional rods.

    If you like it raining , four days out of five so everything rusts and windy most days .A high crime rate and a dollar thats worth nothing , go for it !
     
  6. Have joined. Yes show up here was awesome, saw woodboxs lakester there, was keen to have a yarn but some other fella had him bailed up. Ive met a few rodders thru my job (wheel alignment/tyre tech) and they all offered up plenty advice with my build. Problem with me is Im a cheap bastard that wont spend any money (cos I got none) but my old man works in the regions biggest scrapyard so thats where all my bits come from, for scrap price, Outlay so far $85.

  9. Youre describing wellington.:D The wind is from all the hot air that comes from the politicians. the hot air is also the cause of the precipitation. As for crime rate come to da far norf......:rolleyes:

    Petrol is dear (read: Gas is expensive).

    It's probably like living in Oregon climat-wise over a lot of the country.

    HEAPS of rods and 'Yank-tanks' (read: Older US cars).

    Outside the major cities and especially in the south crime is pretty low.
