Hi all. Need some expertise from the nailhead guys. Would a 4bbl intake from a 62 401 motor fit a 61 364 motor?

    Thanks for any help!

    No it will not.

264 and 322 engines will swap.
401 and 425 engines will swap.

But the 364's are pretty much all on their own

To add *why* it will not swap, because of different deck heights on the block. So the width of the intake manifold has to match. 264/322 are least width, 364 is in middle and 401/425 is widest.

However, in a pinch you can elongate the bolt holes inward on the intake and should be able to get the ports to seal enough to avoid a vacuum leak. This will allow the 4bbl intake but will leave a healthy shelf on the top of the head ports where the intake mounts. You could do a little blending but wont be able to make a real nice transition. The amount of air/fuel gained may not gain you any more performance than the flow lost for the effort.
364 4bbl intakes show up on occasion. They are mostly 57/58 as in 59 the 401 came out and the 364 was delegated to the 'economy' model engine, typically using the 2bbl. If you find one for under $100 you are doing ok. gain you
