and again we will ask what is the problem? It makes a difference. If it's something that needs to be fixed versus a full rebuild.
Wether he wants or can do it himself is irrelevant. He wants a recommendation. But won't tell us for what. The actual work to be done makes a difference on that. If it's an actual full rebuild could get a different one than chasing down a cooling issue.
I gotcha. I met a guy named Red at the Burnout Houston, I have the gray/gray primer '65 Rivi, that you?
im working out of town i need someone to swap a 401/400 into my 55 special ..i don't have time to do it myself
Has it already been converted to open driveline? What transmission? Wiring? If it's a fresh or good engine then I'd say you need more of a hot rod fabrication shop. If we sent you to a Nailhead builder he couldn't/wouldn't do this work.
Why the hell do you need a nailhead "mecanHic" for an engine swap? LOL All kidding aside... texasred : You may wanna ask better questions or learn how to answer the questions asked before gettin your panties in a wad and starting a new thread because things don't happen to be going as you planned. Why you ask? Because the work you are asking about does not involve a "nailhead wrench" (regardless of how standard it is... versus metric) or a nailhead "mecanHic". A reputable shop with knowledge of closed to open drive conversions or rear end swaps and suspension work should be able to accomplish the desired result you mentioned. Also, just a hint for ya... Zman and Tagman are 2 guys you should be really nice to if ya wanna learn something about Buicks... especially since one of the aforementioned gentleman have done the exact swap you are seeking information about. Good luck. Oh and one more thing... it's spelled "mechanic". I'm here to help.
