    I have a 401 in a 63 Buick. I would like to to put a R-4
in place of the Dyna/slow. I know people have done this in
Inpalas. Does anyone know if the bolt paterns are the same?
Or if any late model Buicks had R-4's?

From Buickperformance.com - "Looking to install a 700R4 behind a nailhead 401/425, contact: Rod N Racin, 715 East Main St, Belleville, IL 62220, 618-257-0567. Price for the adapter kit is $295."

    Also, try Bendtsen's.

Do you really need a 700r4? Do you already have one lying around?
I would consider an alternative (which doesn’t require an expensive adaptor)
For lucky ‘late model’ Nailhead owners like yourself you have the option of running the Switch Pitch TH400. The s/p has two stall speeds: 1800 and 2800 rpm
    It was available from 65-66.
For the whole skinny on the s/p check out Switch Pitch Trans for Older Nailheads
