I have a 56 322 Nailhead. I believe there is a vacuum leak somewhere judging by the sound it is making. If the valley pan gasket is bad, would this affect the vacuum? -or does that part of the engine not rely on any vacuum? Thanks in advance!

I don't think there is vac. under there because they use a road draft tube to vent crank case pressure instead of pcv.

To help find the vacuum leak with the engine running take a can of carb cleaner and spray it lightly around the intake manifold and carb base, you will hear the engine speed increase when you hit the area that is leaking.
