When I was at B'ville I saw that black A with the cream artillery wheels and just had to have a set for my '33. Well I was lucky enough to pic up a set at the HAMB Drags and I need to order hub caps for them.

Here is a pic of them can you ID what they are? 46-48?

    Thanks.

It looks like the #2012 from Coker Tire or Wheel Vintiques, which Coker's catalog says is 7 1/2" rear diameter for solid & gennie wheels. The same design for a smootie wheel is #2011 and has an 8 1/4" rear diameter. They're about a $100 per set, stainless steel. [IMG]

Those are '48 passenger car caps. I think many is correct in that they also used them on '47 pass. cars.

The '48-56 truck caps were the same but painted steel, not stainless.

The guy with that roadster said that those were actually accessory wheels for Fords...is that what you bought?

They look kick ass on that car.

Yep those are the exact ones I bought. I almost craped my pants when I saw them there on the trailer for sale.

Here is a pic of the one that Coker lists for 48 passenger car. Does that look right?

    Wow...good score!

Yep, those are the same caps the guy with the roadster was running.

  9. An old trick, but a nifty one to my eyes.

Get a small lettering brush and paint the embossed letters on the cap.

    A small example.

Well I need some more help on finding caps for these. I picked up an F1 last week that had all 4 stock caps on it and they are too big. They are 8 1/4 which would be the wheel vintique #2011. So I called wheel vintique and talked to a guy there about it and emailed him these pics. The only other cap they have that looks like it is the '48 passenger cap #2012 but it is only 7 1/2".

    The wheel measures 7 3/4".

    Anyone?

    Hi,
His name is jeff and his car is in the new peter vincent calendar. I think there is a bio on him with his full name on the calendar. I don't have the calendar (but wish I did). I met jeff at bonneville and he was very nice. Good luck.

Harlan and Jeff are friends. Harlan said he may be riding up to Billetproof with Jeff.

You could try calling Harlan here.
