trying to figure out whaat the hell kinda lower control arm this is??? thought it was pinto but its not! does anyone know. the brakes were a drum 5 on 41/2" lug pattern
My first instint was possibly AMC or annother X-brand. But I'm thinking mid to late 60s GM large platform car.
Any part numbers visible? If it is Ford, you will be able to tell what it's from by de-coding the part number.
i took a couple more pics including the upper arms.... still searching upper arm part# s255824 below that gm23b
All the amc's used the spring on top of the upper arm also... My best guess would be 1972 torino. They had the spring down low and used strut rods..
the uppers look the same as pacer but the lowers on a pacer are actually an "a" arm not a single control
the torino is the same concept but it has a different lower ball joint application! this may be the ? of the year!!!! unfortunately for me i'm ****ed cause i need these damn ball joints
thanks for all the help!! scratchin my head i,ve come up with an idea! i'm gonna get mustang II lower controls and modify my uppers to fit mustang II ball joints, then apply a mustang II disc conversion w/ drop spindle....dun dada dah!!!!!
Upon further review i am 99% certain that you have a 72-76 Thunderbird/Torino/Ranchero/LTD. Possibly the same all the way to 79. Almost guaranty it.
Hey brother, you let me down being the front end guru, but at least you was on the right track... The AMC Pacer front end actually looks like a nice set up eh...
