I named my '52 Victoria "Always Something"...



...for obvious reasons.



It fits.

 

I always like to either give them names or sometimes they already have one! Here a few from my past.

My avatar is called Gretchen, I think it fits the Gnarly Green. It also means pearl. My other car is Lil' Sue, not a custom though just a Subaru.

 

My old daily was named "The Suede Swede" , for obvious reasons - it's a Volvo with suede paint . No name for the shoebox yet .

Smoke and Fire My Av8 pickup was named by my son. He was there at initial start up. No damage just a little excitement.

 

The car in my avatar I generally refer to as "Maybelline" due to the Chuck Berry song. I know according to the song she was in a caddy, but c'mon, we all know the song is *really* about how "nuttin outrun my v8 ford!"

The only other car I have named is my work beater, which is a very off topic '84 datsun sentra wagon I picked up at an impound auction for $100. It has a 1.6 4-popper and a 5 speed manual, bought just because it gets great mileage. I call it "The Rakuda", which is japaneese for camel, because its from Japan, its brown, its ugly, and it doesnt drink much!

I think I'm going to call my '51 F1 "Poi Dog". Thats a local Hawaii term for a mutt and this thing is definitely a mutt. Ford body, Chrysler Cordoba front suspension, Lincoln rear end, Chevy motor and trans, Buick steering column.

 

Don't normally name my vehicles but my OT P/U is quickly earning the name "Endle$$ Bummer".

My last is named "Doghouse" as thats where I've been ever since I bought it!

I suppose when I told her six months earlier " This will be the last one I promise" she believed me............

 

1960 Thunderbird, "Two Step T Bird" every time I finish one step something comes up and I go back two steps. Example I pulled the engine to paint under hood and install rebuilt 390, moving car in the garage and the power steering control valve failed, yesterday backed car out of the garage to do final sanding on the top so I can paint the top today and noticed rear end grease on the floor, rear axle seal failed while car was sitting. Always something, about ready to finish and sell it, doesn't seem to like me...

 

The one and only time I ventured away from the Blue Oval I bought a 67 Chevelle,,a very nice looking car but nothing but problems,,It was referred to by both my wife and I as The "CHEVELLE FROM HELL",,that car was a PITA! HRP

 

I raced this car back in the late 70's & Early 80's.............

I called her "HOT CONNIE"
