I took four inches out of this axle to get a 56" front track center to center on tires. I like it better than 60". What should the lean on my axle/king pin be? Seven degrees rings a bell. To what degree is safe?

    Thanks

7 comes from folklore; the book specs for early Ford V8 is 4.5 to 9. Halfway is 6-3/4", so that is where 7 comes from.

    Caster depends on many things.

too much or too little can cause wobble, or it might not...so many things to change the mix. I run 5 or less on all that I do. My stock 40 is around 5 or 4.5, never altered, all stock

Caster is a drivability measurement. Too little & the car wanders "& too much it becomes lazy feeling. Too much caster also causes corner wear on the tires due too the inclination while turning. So to answer your question 3.5 to 4.5 should work out fine. Many factors can come into play and u may need to adjust later on but that should be agreat starting point. An easy way to explain caster is put ur weight on the balls & toes and try walking, thats negative caster. Now put all ur weight on ur heels only and try walking, thats positive caster. Now walk on ur whole foot, that is the sweet spot for caster. That sweet spot is different for each car. High speed needs more caster so
