Does any of the member know of any conversion to put disc brakes on a 1956 Nash Metropolitan?

    Richard,

I'm planning to contact this guy, from his listing in the Cl***ifieds section of NashMet.net (the SoCal Metropolitan Club website):

METROPOLITAN DISC BRAKE OPERA VIDEO: by popular demand, this video is now available. Convert the front drum brakes on your Met to Disc Brakes, a great winter project. “How to” video explains it all. A list of tools you’ll need and typical parts cost are provided. In addition, the 3 ½ hour video goes into detail and describes the repair of the Met’s control arms and hardware, a very frequently neglected item that effects handling. Send $20 (ppd) to Marvin Josephson, 8262 Manifesto Circle, Huntington Beach, Ca. 92646 (714) 596-0617

I would guess that it uses parts from a Sprite or a Midget, but I don't really know. I'll order this video soon to see, but I'm also thinking about fabbing new, stronger A-arms and using a modern spindle that takes discs. But, that's all 2009 talk.

Also, the same Cl***ifieds section lists sweet-looking rear-wheel skirts for the Met. More skirting on a Met? Hell, yeah.

    Jesse.

Nothing like bringing back a thread from SEVEN years ago. I've got a full setup from a late Midget. The deal you need for disc brakes on your Met.

email is jdeatsch at rochester dot rr dot com
