Anthony first off great great pictures my friend. Thank you. Most definitely pack your own lunch and snacks. I had the TUNA lunch kit with the relish, mayo, and crackers along with some chips, water, gatorade, and an apple from the house. Not only did I not have to stand in the line but i did not have to pay the prices being asked. $4 for a 16 oz bottled water!! A case of 40-16oz bottles is $4.50 @ Sam's Club and Costco. So after a vendor sells two bottles, AND THEY WILL, the other 38 bottled are all gouging profit. Great great great show. I'm BLESSED to live 17 miles away. The food prices on the other hand are Insane. Thanks again for the pics.

Thanks for this, nothing like it in my area (Austria), the nearest thing we have in Europe are a 1000 miles away in Sweden...

  6. From our perspective as a vendor, we thought it was an excellent show. Very well organized, and promoters Gary Case and Bobby Alloway went well out of their way to make sure vendors had what they needed (staff escorting trucks and trailers to their booth on set-up day, case of bottled water for the weekend, stopping by to say hey and see how things are going throughout the show). Had a lot of spectators visit our booth and hang out with us, and everyone we spoke with seemed to be having a ball.

Make no bones about it—this is a big time fairgrounds car show. And while personally I love small shows with a couple hundred (or even a couple dozen) really neat cars and a cool place to drive them and hang out, we'll be back to this one. Many great traditional hot rods—many of which have attended (or would be welcome at) shows like The Roc, LSRU, etc. Not too many early-style customs, but there were a few (that subtly scalloped Impala posted above was a knock-out). It did feel like there was something for everyone because the entries ran the gamut in manufacture era, build era, and style, but it's not like you had to walk past 25 cars to find something cool...there were "our style" of cars all over the place. Plus, for many it was a true rod run...we rolled south from PA with a handful of friends from the Mid-Atlantic area making the 750-mile trek in traditional hot rods, which is always a good time.

  7. Awesome that some drove, thinking though that it had to look like an enclosed trailer convention there for the weekend.:D

I added 1,375 miles to the odometer of my Comet, we drove secondary roads from Wisconsin to the event. The trip home was all interstate, which is faster but much less entertaining. Two days of cleaning and the car is ready for this weekends local events.

I drove about 900 miles in my Plymouth. A big part of the fun is the drive to the show!
