I'd pay money to go for a tear down the strip in that car! Awesome!

like you need more traction with those wider drag slicks... you might just flip it over now.

  3. The car really shows off the new axle with the front wheels dangling in the air! Looks great, nice work.

Nasty Habit's looking great, very impressive hard to beat that statement. Glad you posted part 12 and hear about the upgrades.
When I see you roll down Thompson you sure turn a lot of heads. Thanks for all your help.

Nice running into you at the CHHR. Totally bitchin Kev. That shot doing the big wheelstand is the best. Great to see you tossing in some old Orange Plus parts along the way too. DIG!

Looking good, Kev. Man, it must've been pretty hard to let Orange + go.

Yep that big wheelie is ace - and those aren't grey hairs Kev - you're just going blond from the CA sunshine....;)

  11. abone1930....So far I am side stepping the clutch at about 5,000 rpm because that's all it would rev to with the cross ram. Next I will try 6,500 just for fun. It has a Centerforce clutch, pressure plate and billet steel flywheel. I'm sure something will break sooner or later.

  13. Thanks for the update Kev. Love the new race-wheels, wish I could have seen it in person but it was great to see you again at Walden's.

I love it. Yet another reason I wear my Nasty Habit Pit Crew shirt with pride!

Well done Kev and congratulations on the (now international) coverage....long overdue in my book.

  15. No doubt!:eek::)

  16. Kev, anybody can have black hair, takes a cool guy to live long enough to have some custom silver/grey locks. The Nasty looks super bad as always . Thanx for sharin! ~sololobo~

good as it gets for me--someday would love to get a Willys coupe and run a high windin' 4 spd small block

  24. Raceful....I usually run a hood, that pic at Irwindale was taken after we were messing with it in the pits and I made my way to the staging lanes before I realized I hadn't put the hood back on. I have run around on the street a little without the hood on but most of the time the hood is on.

redlineracer42.....No times to report because it still hasn't made a decent run under power (lots of tuning issues). We will see what happens at The Mooneyes show in December. I am guessing (hoping) it would run 12 sec quarter, not sure what that equates to in the eighth mile. Remember this is not a badass race car, it's a 283 powered street car and it is more important to me that it is a well behaved street car.
The rear end is a 57 Olds with 4.56 gears and Ansen spider gear wedge locks. It has Moser 29 spline axles. 29 spline because when I built the car I had a 4.88 29 spline posi in it but blew up the spider gears so replaced it with the one in it now.

  25. Man Kev, that snooty nose up photo is fantastic, hell I get excited that my Henry J gets the wheels off the ground at all.

  26. swade41...I love your Henry J project, I have been following your thread and I like what you've been doing to it.

Looks great Kev. Can't wait to see it run down the track under full power.

  28. Thanks man, I put your big wheelie picture on my Facebook page, lot of likes on it of course.

  29. One of my favorite cars and one of my favorite people. Looking good buddy!

  30. The Willys looks perfect! Glad to see it on the track and not the show grounds.
