I had Rex here in Oceanside make me a seat (more on that later) . I made a package tray and some upholstery support channels. At this point I’m sending it to the sandblaster and the finish work on the body and frame can start!!!
Dash is coming along, still have some finessing and other chrome bits for it. Jay at nostalgia ranch has the car currently, and he’s done a full set of Lincoln brakes, plumbing, some wiring and exhaust.
Jay at nostalgia ranch has been busy plumbing, doing the brakes, fuel lines, and painting. I’ve been working on some windshield stanchions and other stuff at home
Somebody painted this old chrome grill insert blue at some point. I spent most of my day today removing it. I’m happy with the looks currently but I’m looking forward to seeing if some polish brings it out more.
Ok I lied. I scraped it more, polished it and hand painted the inner support bars silver. No more blue. Also I found an original emblem and my OG cap is at the platers, now my whole grill is all Original Henry parts. Jay also got some color on the shell and firewall. Soon I’ll have a roller!
Nate - Is the color on the firewall Wimbledon White or ? Whatever it is, it's what I want for my '40 Ford firewall. vic
A series of build sequence, Intuitive documenting of each build step. Your steps show us how. Many thanks! I've done similar work, errr, in '71.
It’s a custom mix that started as a duesenberg color. IMO the solid colors from 1929-1936 are really great. I just looked up early IM (intermix) codes . If I saw a sample that looked cool I googled the car to see it . Then tried to track it down and eventually get it and refine it
