Jim, I suppose you could be right, but those words kinda bother me. I was taken advantage of, over and over again in the last few years. Life can grab you by the balls. There are folks out there looking for “volunteers” to give away their stuff for little to nothing, with just a few well-placed words. Don’t be that guy.

 

We would like to think if the item for sale is being sold by a hamber you could trust the seller, 99%of the time you can but you also have to so your home work.

Like many people I have gotten screwed in the past but when I buy parts on the hamb I do my research, How long has the seller been a member, look at his profile if you are not familiar with the user.

Does he participate on all the forums on the hamb or just the classifieds?

One thing I have learned, when you desperately need a part and post it in the wanted section sometimes you will get a reply overnight, this happened to me recently and when I check out the member, he had joined the hamb shortly after I posted the ad, the price he wanted was a third of what the part normally sells for.

It was temped but common sense won out over want, plus the photo he sent when I ask was a photo I saw in another ad.

Never be afraid to ask other hambers about the the seller, with the dedicated moderators on the hamb if a guy proved himself to be a scammer they will be shown the door and banned, HRP
