An expert on FaceySpace told me I couldn’t possibly have the roadster body and frame ready for final primer and paint in two weeks. He was right. 3 days. [emoji41]

That 8 ball shift knob really ties the whole build together. [emoji6]

I’m glad I painted the backing plates. I love polished fins against a paint background.

For some reason, the bar struck the inside of the bracket, which it didn't seem to before disassembly and paint. So, I had to grind some of the bracket away to get some clearance. Yes, I'll brush touch it.

I wondered about that not being painted, it didn't stack up to your normal quality of work.

I must have missed that there wasn't enough room for the panhard bar mount in the bracket, but, a little work with a hard disk in the grinder clearances it. I blame Speedway...;-)

Up on all fours! This makes me happy, although that joy is tempered by discovering I’d gotten 5/8” tie rods instead of 11/16” like the tie rod ends, so I couldn’t mount the steering. Looks like I also need to heat and drop the steering arms a little more, so I’m glad I didn’t paint them. I also discovered that the rear Panhard bar didn’t fit the brackets after paint because I swapped it end for end. The adjustable end eye is fatter than the fixed end, so I ground the frame bracket for clearance for naught.
    Dammit.
Oh well, I’ll touch that up when I touch up the rear axle housing scratches where it fell off the jack positioning it.
    Because that’s how I roll…

I like them too, but, they're sort of "street-rod" looking. I bought them for the (still unfinished) T'bird, they're the only thing i have with a Ford 5 on 4.5" bolt pattern. They're SO thick, I'd need longer wheel studs, and I bought long ones for the rear that turn out still to be too short to have more than a few threads in the lug nuts. I kind of like the Dayton wires on them, but I'll need wheel adaptors to push the wheels (15") out far enough to clear the fins on the brake drums.
    So many problems...;-)

Big step when you can roll ‘em outside. Cleaned up the shop enough to start some bodywork.
