just about there now and the more i look at it the more i want to get rid of the vent windows in the front and convert it to one piece gl*** ..any thoughts on it ar tips on how best to do it would be welcome

on this one i have decided to get rid of the chrome trim and the rocker will be channeled to allow the exhaust to exit cleanly

this shows the rad in place and the top will have a cover on it to look like a very clean slam panel

The vent window really helps with directing the air if you're not running AC.

That is the one thing I like about older cars is the ability to direct the air where I want it with the vent windows, with a one piece if you crack down a window it blows across the top of your head and messes with your hair and blows bugs in your face, probably one of the dumbest ideas the car companies came up with.

I am with you Jeff, but it certainly wouldn't be the hardest job to convert. Just fix some bailey channel on the front edge of the door modify a rear gl*** door run bracket to fix the bottom run of the gl***. You will need to run power windows. The hard part will be fixing the exposed section of the bailey channel as there are no fixings provided in this section of the inner door. It certainly can be done. A couple of friends have fitted one piece gl*** to the front of 1952 F1 pickup and a 1948 Mercury coupe.
You will need a good heater setup as you won't have the benefit of the vent windows.

If im honest the airflow comfort side of things never entered my head i just want the car to look as nice as possible and living in the northern part of England a good heater ( it has one ) is way more important than ventilation and it rains a lot here . also im a motorcyclist so i like a bit of wind in the face

I would stick with the factory look. Not a big fan of the one piece gl*** on the doors for vintage cars. My opinion and you know how opinions go.

Good choice! The front windows are big but would be huge without the vent. Why fix what ain't broke.
