"Deuces Wild" & "Poison Ivy" were a couple of local early pro street Novas "Killin' Time" was a 55 from out west "Cannabis Express / Importer-Exporter" Local van, well done attention getter in the 60s
Old Shagnasty was a swamp buggy that raced in the swamp races down south about 7 + years ago . He won alot of races and was on top of his class for a long time . You got the name from the show on ESPN !
Was surprised to see Bob Sarkasian's "Hellacious" 48 anglia up there!!!!! We've known him for a long time. Anyway, I think my favorite name that I've heard came form a car I saw in Lancaster.... "Mother's Worry"
Some more... I found these on the same website.... a shame the man behind "Hemified" isn't with us anymore... I love that car, the thing's beautiful Barn Stormer Hemified Wild Willy Mad Dad Racing
PASS'N GAS we just finished this one at www.richardsonmotorcompany.com about 3 months ago and just sold it. went to so-cal. joe enjoy it!!!!!! it was a lot of fun building this one hadn't done a gasser before. turned out really nice. Rob
A buddy of mine, Phil (who has since passed away) and I built a quarter-miler once. Frame setup from a Camaro and a 396, nothing special. But the body is what got the attention. I had a HotWheels when I was a kid that was a Brinks Armored Truck that I always liked, I think it was all the bolt heads sticking out, I dunno. But we (Phil and I) built a body around that frame and engine. Used a cab from an old GMC truck (one of the old larger ones) and then built a squared box for the back coming from the cab. I painted the whole thing silver and fake "armor plate lines" all over it, right down to fake "bolt heads". Since it was obvious it was supposed to be an Armored Car, we named it: DIRECT DEPOSIT. Sure wish I'd taken more pictures of it, I'll dig 'em up and put one on here...hopefully soon.
I always got a kick outa the popular "Bad News" (travels fast). If I was ever to run a Gasser, I'd call it "Solid Gone".
Budget Bender is on this 65 4 door Comet, but it really is low dollar compared to some cars out there but still lots of fun as it should be. Jon
My Vega drag cars were known as Dangermouse, from a British cartoon...1 & 2 ,respectively......i'll look for pics.....
A 55 chevy that ran at Maple Grove and other area tracks was named Flushtration. Not a drag car, but a Bonneville 55 Chevy(!) had DAMNYOUGOFASTER painted in a large rolling script from wheel to wheel.
can't remember what kind of car, but it was painted purple and called "Statutory Grape". Saw pics of it years ago in Super Stock and Drag Illustrated
A buddy of mine just bought an old gasser(Anglia)last raced in 1971 at Oswego dragstrip in Ill.It has a kicking donkey on the side and BADASS below it!And.....It is!!
my favorites --------a camaro called "suddenly" and a 55 chevy 2 dr wagon called "casper".......... also can't forget the two tone(by length) black and white chevy gasser "race riot"
I first saw this car in color in a book at our grade-school library when I was about 8 years old. To this day, I think this is the very definition of a badass car with a badass name.
