A couple of local cars I remember from the '60's... Mister Blister ( Big Block Chevelle ) Scarlett fever (bright red b/fx Comet ) Flying Farmer (Gold '57 Chevy)
A race car's GOTTA have a good name! My last AA/FA was called the Bomb Squad (Named as much for the crew as much as the car itself.) The one I'm building now is a twin engine deal. The day I tacked the first two pieces of tubing together, I christened the beast "The Terrifying 'Terd".
Peter Pan is right. You just can't do gold leaf in vinyl. What ever happened to naming your car? Modern NHRA is lame.
I need to learn how to post pictures. My dad ran a 55 chevy called "Ceasers Chariot". He also recalled other friends car names: Wompin Wagon, Sir Pepsodent Wonder where the yellow went, Legal Eagle, Golden Angel, Mr. FoMoCo.
Here's one that I painted on a Camaro. It got written off on its first time out!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_ytZ-Azy28 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZJFRvmhTI8 ( the cameraman survived!!)
"Flyin' brick"... Although, I've settled on mine for my truck as being "Gaslighter"...its short, a play on words, and there is a secret meaning behind it. I had considered: 1. "Agony Wagon" Thanks Shack Shakers! 2. "Irresponsibilty" ( fiscally...) 3. "Hay Hauler"...mirth... 4. "Harm's Way" A fellow up the street in my old neighborhood had a Nova with a good one when I was growing up in the late 70's/early 80's... "Neighbors Nightmare"
from the north texas/ southern oklahoma area: "Texas Twister"- a 10k RPM small block Ford Falcon owned by Woody Elliot from Wichita Falls "Cuna Cab"- small Block 39 Chevy coupe from Oklahoma "War Party"- superb 41 Ford Coupe gasser from Quanah, Texas. The GTO Judge also had the Texas personalized license plate with same name. No photos, I never was much of a camera bug.
a friend of mine has always considered "FALSE PROFITS" he's a bible fan and he also likes the name because its a reference to people that see you win money at the strip then say "you must make good money" yeah make good money $20'000 car $8000 trailer then truck payments and min. $500 for the weekend lodging n food then a couple hundred bucks max payment for winning whoo ha big profits......

doing a 27 T coupe altered type street car /strip car and it"s gonna have " Strip T-Zer " on the side of it which i'm shocked i have never seen , although one of my buddies says he has seen it but can't find a picture or remember where . and i was doing a 57 chevy (sold it ) that was gonna be named "Jumpin' Jack FLASH "....its A/gas. it will definately be hand lettered , not vinyl , some flake and panels and lots of chrome and polished parts basically looking to create a T coupe altered that could have been a big dollar successful drag car back in the day and just brought out and restored and then had plates an extra seat and lights thrown on it!!! that is the plan anyway....i will definately do a build thread . jp
Not a Car but My Buddy had "Cirrhosis of the River" on his Top Fuel Drag Boat, sponsored by A Budweiser distributor...
