Got a '52 Chevy 1 ton for free. All I had to do was push it across the street. Sold to a tree farmer and beleive or not he still uses it. It was a pile but hey it did eventually run.

1966 Chrysler Newport. It was vandalized one night so badly that it wasn't worth me fixing (as a teenager at the time).

1960 VW Deluxe Bug w/canvas sliding roof (stolen from behind the high school I was attending...musta been 1978).

In 1988 I owned a sandwhich shop and I sold a few cars on the side. One day a kid came in and asked if I wanted a car his older brother and friend left in his parents garage. I asked what it was and he thought it was a Chevy. I got the address and drove out there to see what it was. I looked in the window and saw a 1966 Chevelle 2dr. I went to the door and confrimed that the car was availible to be towed out for free and it was so I went back home got my 1964 Stude T-Cab and towed it home with a tow bar. It had no motor or steering wheel but otherwise was complete and original. I sold it a couple of weeks later, for a pretty good price.

The latest freebe I own is a 1984 VW Rabbit convertible given to me by the original owner. The car is pretty sweet.

  4. a 1954 pontiac Pathfinder 2 door sedan, with just over 8000 miles on the odometer, 1952 fargo panel truck, 1952 studebaker m-17, 1937 chevy truck, 1928 model a business coupe body and parts, 1956 ford zephyr, 1962 chevy Biscayne
    my brother picked up a 1931 ford model a, 1961 chevrolet apache with a 4 in the floor and a 292 l6, 1957 chevy 1430,

thats all i can think of at the moment. most of those were from one old woman

  5. The best freebee I ever got was a 65 Catalina that I got from a guy up in Madison, Wi. He told my dad I could have it so we drove up from Illinois , he poured some fuel down the carb and we drove that sucker home. It had gotten hit by a Pinto and the right quarter was caved ion, I popped it out and drove that car for 3 years bassically for nothing. All it needed was a rear wheel bearing and a set of skins that I got for nothing. I used a MAGIC MARKER to flame it, the whole thing, all the way down the sides. It was a sight to behold I'll tell ya. BEST DAMN CAR I HAVE EVER OR WILL EVER OWN !! They sure dont make them like that any more . Mike.

Only vehicle I ever recieved for free was a (o/t) 1986 Jeep Comanche from my father. I gave it back to him later when I bought a different vehicle so he could get the money from selling it. Seemed only fair.

I guess one could argue that I received my current ride for free though. I traded for it straight up.

Back in '87 or '88 I was delivering pizzas and went to a house and I noticed the front end of a chevelle as I walked up to the door. I handed the guy the pizza, I asked him if he was fixing up the '70 Chevelle 2 door in the back yard, he told me that his mother in law had given it to him and he didn't want it, in fact, he was getting ready to cut it up for scrap. Said if I wanted it the car, that could be my tip. So I called my girlfriend's Dad who worked at the gas station I use to work at and had him bring the tow truck up. He worked on it while I finished my shift and when I went to her house after I got off, he already had it running. Drove that thing for years and then traded it for my first Harley.

My '59 Ford convertible was given to me by an acquaintance. It had occupied the same spot, behind his father's barn, for the previous 17 years. All my pals laughed and I went to work. 23 years later, that old Ford and I are still crusin' and it appears it will outlast me this time around.

I just scored a 65 Pontiac Station Wagon. My buddy has told me about it for years but I never had intrest in another project. Well he told me I could have it if I came to get it. Me and a couple buddies went to his house, aired the tires up, wrestled it onto the trailer and got it to the shop. It had not been messed with since the summer of 94 when it developed a transmission leak. We put a battery in it, primed the carb and it fired up! It sat and idled for half an hour on the 1994 gas! It'll need brakes and tires and a big ass piece of meat painted somewhere. It'll be The Meat Wagon!

My 1st vehicle was a 48 chevy truck I paid $10 for it but was only 14 and couldn't keep it tho I did get it running. My next car was free and I got it when I turned 16-got it from the old lady across the street. It was a 65 Mustang with a 6 cyl and automatic. I was embarrassed to drive it because of the 6 cyl. The top rocker assembly broke on it after 6 mos and i sold it for $10

A 52 Ford F-1 from my Grandpa for farm help one summer, and a 57 F100 about 4 years ago from a friend that was moving out of state. And more recently a 57 F350 I got for doing some work on another truck. I guess the F350 wasn't all that free.

  28. I got a whole model A running gear minus the frame, motor/trans, and body for free over the summer. Many of the parts have already found their way onto stock model A cars or my car. I passed them on as they were passed onto me. Free to buddies. The gentleman said he just wanted them to get used and they were of no use to him with his hotrod build. He is a buddy also and I found him some parts he needed for his build so I kinda looked at it as a sorta thanks for the help him giving me the parts.

I got a 68 VW bug from a neighbor years ago just because he knew I always needed parts for my bug. I still have whats left of those parts from the remains of the car. Me and a buddy took it apart and used what was still good. Someone had tried to make a baja-creation outta it and it was basically a roller. All I wanted was the frontend and IRS transmission. My buddy put the other part to use in his fleet of bugs and buses he owns.-Weeks
