The swapmeet is at Lincoln Nebraska this Sunday. Gonna be a good day for it. Maybe I'll find a windshield for my 1960 Mercury Monterey convertible. Lol

Me, my son, and my brother will be going. It's been a long time since I've gone to it. The last time it was still at the fairgrounds. I hope it's as good as it was back then.

It`s better. Over half of it is indoors. If it`s good weather, they sell ALL the spaces.

If you don't go, the part you were looking for will have been there.

I hate hearing that I love swap meets and really try to stay positive about their continued success but they are all declining in numbers and any decent parts.

I sold there year before last was in line at 3:45 am , took 45 minutes to get to my spot inside , every spot outside was filled to the point of putting people in the parking lot for buyers .
It was the largest turnout ever for the Lincoln swap meet. Last year it was cold and outside wasn't as big as in decent weather , but still a big overall swapmeet . It's supposed to hit 67 degrees Sunday, I'm expecting a big turnout.

Someone is gonna complain about the $5 dollar parking fee. This is to help cover the cost of the grounds. The parking fee is to keep the cost of the spaces lower for the vendors.

WEATHER REPORT. Saturday, starting out in the 20's then into the upper 40's to lower 50's. Sunday, dry with temps getting into the upper 50's, maybe even low 60's.

Any HAMBer's, please stop by an see if I have something you can't live without. Co-vending with a friend out of his dually pickup/trailer. He likes to get in line early, so likely will be in the concrete floor building against the north wall. I think he'll have an early 70's Dodge Charger on the trailer.

I'll have a Crown Vic plexiglass top, a '50-'51 Merc dash, '57 Buick grill, 51-56 Olds/Caddy air cleaner, '53 Olds fenderskirts, and a small selection of 15" wheel cover sets and pairs.

I'll have a set of these, plus set of '56 Dodge Royal Lancers, set of standard '56 Dodge, set of '55 Pontiac with bullets, set of '52 Buick Sombreros, a pair of '53 Cadillac "Disks", A pair of plain label aftermarket Strauss Stores (east coast) similar to '53 Ford, and maybe, just maybe, a set of '56/57 Lincoln Premiere.

I'll just drag out all the crap I've been taking down there for the past few decades that doesn't sell, set up my tables and my lawn chair in my stall in the Lincoln room, and then roam the grounds for T-bird, 40 and 55 Ford parts and literature and BS with everyone I haven't seen since last year. Still much better than being stuck at work. Buying more than selling since 1980.

Do they stick to their guns on opening to the public at 7:00am, or can buyers get in as soon as they open the doors at 3:00am for vendor set up?

The heated buildings are opened up for the public at 7 - outside areas and the unheated buildings typically are open before then.

I have a friend who attends the ENWICC meetings on a regular basis. He told me last year that the group that runs the Lancaster Events Center keeps raising the rent on the grounds. He said it could get to the point that they won't be able to afford the rent payment, I think he said around 13k per day! I did see they raised the vendor fee up from $30 to $35 this year. I'm sure the sellers will be whining about that too!

Manager at the Event Center set out several years ago to raise rent on the facility - that's why parking fee came about otherwise we couldn't raise enough from vendors to cover cost to rent entire grounds for full weekend or risk having other events there at the same time. It's pretty much the only place large enough in the Omaha-Lincoln area that can hold something like this - LEC pretty much has grabbed our collective nutsack on this one.

He was already there in line at 3 this afternoon. And he wasn't the first in line, either...

Brought my friends ‘32 sedan to sell. I didn’t get to walk around much. Large grounds, well run, good attendance. It was cold this morning. I sold a ‘40 dash, front rear juice brakes and several early columns. All in all a good day.

Thanks 32fenderless, nice chatting with you & that was indeed a respectful looking 32 & the honest description was appreciated, had we known you were attending we would have let you know the Midwest Deuce club had a club meeting in Lincoln Saturday with 30 or so deuce members in tendance .Roger Nunn his wife & daughter do an excellent job promoting the club, we perhaps via social media in the future can remind swap attendees each year the meeting takes place the Saturday immediately preceding the Sunday swap! The group that puts this on does a great job, I have no idea how many volunteers there must be--- but if any of them read this I say "THANKS"!!
I bought a few things as did my wife, not as chilly as last year and I ran into some old friends too:)

My bro, nephew, and I had a great time. We had never been to the swap at this facility (last time was about a dozen years ago at the fairgrounds), and it's nice. All level, easy access, no mud, and even the "cold" buildings were warm.

Had a good time chatting with Ron, and Jim, but never did see any of the other locals I know like Nick or Rocky. Ron introduced me to some other local heavy hitters, and might be able to put the networking to use for parts gathering in the future.

Brought home a couple quickchange parts, tools, and misc. I was this close to buying a pair of 32 frame rails, but we were $50 apart. Woulda-shoulda.

    We will be back again!
