I saw loads of people I knew. Talked to a few but had to keep the talks short as we arrived at 7 and finished up at 1:30. Only bought littles, nothing for the Plymouth. The Printer shorted the book count by 3500, which meant only one events book for person. Have your club join the Eastern Nebraska Western Iowa Car Council. Have your local event listed for free as well as a club directory of members and buy an add to support this great bunch car minded people. We meet every month in Lincoln and Omaha rotating between the two. I`m think around 6000 books are being handed out this year for free. It is also online as well. ENWICC The only way to get a book is to go to the swapmeet or by joining and being a member. You can send in $4 bucks to cover postage and handling. for a book also.

Thanks for the comments, I'm not personally in any official capacity any longer, did serve as the E.I.W.I.C. council president early on, during those early years it was my mission to further coordinate & publish the various club functions to avoid conflicting dates. The current membership has, as you mentioned a great dedicated group of car club volunteers that contribute to make things run smoothly. I like to say my dedication to the swap meet & the car culture is to spread the word & help it continue to survive during these times our very existence is under constant threat..

Thanks alchemy, always encouraging to receive positive input when the weather can make or break a distant commute so many make, the 60 degree weather was a bit late & was challenged by the brisk winds at times, but all & all the ties that bind keep our motor minds warmed up!

Not so fast, Stan - end result of discussion at the table early yesterday morning between the Treasurer and Jim Snyder was that because we were "shorted" on books by the printer, there wasn't going to be any more being mailed out other than the 70-some which were already requested and paid for. Decision was made to pass out as many books as they could yesterday and not hold any back for additional mailing. No books will be mailed out beyond those requests received prior to the swap meet. If people didn't get to the swap meet yesterday to pick up a book, and if they're not a member of a ENWICC-affiliated club that has an allotment set aside for them, they'll have to go to www.ENWICC.com to see a digital version of the 2023 ENWICC Car Council Event Directory/book, which should be up and live by the end of the month if all goes like in past years (the 2022 version is still up until the 2023 version can be uploaded by the publisher).

At least I got a little bit of the info right. Thanks for the clarification @Yutan Flash Good thing I turned down the suggestion made to me Sunday to be nominated to be pres this coming year.

Yes, stanlowe69 it can be time consuming being president & often times working to satisfy the masses without stepping on any toes along the way can be a daunting task. Jim Snyder, Paul High, Rocky Manginelli among others devoted much through the years. Going forward, as always, the fees associated with the facilities & someone willing to step up to the plate to give positive direction are paramount to the future.

And a BIG thank you to the late Roy Maurborito (?spelling) for devoting so much time for the events book it has evolved into.

Jim, trust me - been there, done that, have the awards and scars to prove it. But someone has to step up and move the ball forward. I enjoyed everything I've done for the Council over the years - from promotion of the swap meets and filling virtually every office/leadership position except Treasurer, plus working on the Events Book for a good share of the 2010s, but I'm enjoying my 'time off' (even though it's filled with more than plenty to do for the vintage T-bird club at an international level). I really miss a lot of the people that have moved on. And it's spelled Murabito, btw. - Roy would never forgive me if I ever got that wrong in the minutes or in the Book.

Alan, the names Jim. I have missed a total of less than 8 Omaha meetings in the last 25 years. Mostly by attending other car activities. Only made a handful of Lincoln meeting. I have a full plate right now. Self-employed (car related) with a BIG backlog of work to do. Went to the swap meet Sunday. Had a guy pick up a completed 38 Chevy sedan Tuesday. Helping a guy set his car up Wednesday afternoon for World of Wheels in Omaha. Local Car club meeting Wednesday evening which I`m the President of again. Off to Clarinda to work on a 34 Ford Thursday. Friday it`s off to Kansas City to my supply house and then to KC`s World of Wheels. Sunday, it`s time for Omaha`s World of Wheels then to tear down a buddy`s car display. Then Monday another car (Mercury) arrives in the shop from Lincoln if the weathers good. Plus, it`s my anniversary weekend. Maybe I should step up and do more since Monday was a slow day while I was trying to finish up the 38 Chevy.

Are the Omaha and Kansas City world of wheels on the same weekend?

Don't know, Tim but ours is this weekend. I'm leaving in an hour to drive my coupe down to the event center [CHI] in the wet. If they turn me away to come in tomorrow, I may not make it if we get too much snow.
Didn't make the swap meet this year....too much on my plate and in my extended age, I just plain forgot! Plus I don't need anything and don't have enough to vend this year.

Looking forward to seeing photos of the hot rods of Omaha! Only reason to go to that show :)

It was nice to see a ton of vendors at the Lincoln Swap Meet this year. I was there from 7:00-noon. Saw some items that caught my eye, but didn't buy anything. That '32 Sedan project was very nice and seemed like a good deal. A HAMBer bought it, from what I was told.

Sadly I sold my 39 coupe. The Merc ragtop is getting a off topic 4csm Lincoln with dual turbos and 4 Weber carbs.
