I Have a 1934 Chevy truck that I'm starting on and wanted to use as much of it as I can. What are my options for Juice brakes. Spindle Swap? Axle Swap? What have you guys done? I have an old Tube Plymouth axle I could use and I also have a '58 GMC Front axle. I think I read that Plowboy used a MAS Axle on the spacetruck, so what did this make the brakes? Any pics? I do still plan on using the leaf springs. Possibly reverse the eyes or mount the axle on top of the springs to get a better stance.
should be able to put the GMC brakes on the 34 spindles, do some experimenting...we did something very similar on gear jammer's 31 Chevy. and you can use the 51-54 Chevy car hub/drums to get it to work with 5 lug wheels. You probably need to use the inner wheel bearing race that's on the 34, it should fit in the later bearing.
Mor drop the axle to get it down to the ground. I think the '37 brakes will bolt on, possibly '36 as well. I think '36 was the first year for hyd. brakes on Chevys. I may have the parts if your interested.
I used 54 Chevy spindles with the speedway mustang 2 rotor conversion on a MAS dropped axle. I also have a plymouth axle that I was going to try and put chevy spindles on for another project.
Onefish. How did this work out for you? I just recently scored a 34 truck as well..and I'm going down the same route for now. Lemme know whatcha got going with the project. madman mike
