I seem to remember Krylon32 quoting that the UPAC tack strip was $400+. If it is like all their other components then it will be identical to the original. I do know that the Julianos version is rather bulky as has been pointed out to me at various times. I think Macs has something suitable also. Check both sites and post here as I need to know also.

That is the correct channel . I used it years ago . I had to hire 2 body men and a Priest , to get it installed correctly . Curving it was a severe PITA . Super hard to get it to look correct . Maybe someone else will have used it and offer suggestions on an easy way to install it

There was an earlier post either on here or the Barn on how to go about bending it, looked for the thread; but haven't located it yet.

Contact Jerry at 636 240 8712 HE has it and its already shaped to fit. I have some original but it needs a little work and I wanted a top in right away so I used his. I love it. Everybody so far thought it was original until I told them what it was. I installed it by my self. Not a great pic but 20140820_194829.jpeg

20140820_195245.jpeg It comes as a kit . Its already bent to fit just small adjustments are necessary . It comes with screws instead of tacks and the rubber trim insert also has instructions . The screws are much better than tacks. The aluminum trim its self is in two pieces a front and rear that needs to be cut where they meet. It was not as hard as I thought it would be I did it by self with a little help from my wife in the stretching department. I'll try to get some better pics tomorrow. I have it tore apart so its had to get some good light back there. I had a hard time finding it but I found it on the HAMB before they changed the site around. I cant find it now. I got the # Off the shiping label The guy lives in MO. It was kind of expensive but well worth it. I would do it again

Hi there, I tried to send you a PM but apparently you don't accept them as per your privacy settings. So my question is what size tires are you running on your outstanding coupe?

Sorry I do not know how to do the pm or any of that stuff. I'm knew to computers and don't realy know how to use it. Just enough to get myself into trouble. The tires are Firestone size is 5.50 x 16 in front and 700 x 16 in the rear. I might be able to get a pm now I just made a change .

I am using this trim on the f/g car that I am building. What kind of info are you looking for? The guy that makes it doesn't live far from me and I could ask him if for some reason you don't want to call him direct. Dennis D

Compared to the original 32 it is. If you know what they are supposed to look like, the Juliano's trim looks about a half inch too tall.

Can one of these be installed on a 32 with a filled roof?

This is how it comes from LeBaron Bonney. You need two lengths to do a coupe top. This was an extra one I bought in case I screwed up one of the bends for my last 5W. Bending this channel and trying to keep it in the right shape is nearly impossible. If this guy Jerry mentioned is selling it bent to fit, that is how I'd go next time.
Because of the t-shape molding, I don't see how you could make it lie flat enough to work on a filled roof. I have a glass 5 W and as much as I think the Juliano kit looks too bulky, I may have to go with it. Her are a couple pictures of the LeBaron Bonney molding. Tack strip 2.JPG Tack strip 1.JPG

This would depend on how the roof was filled. If the filler stops at the first lip maybe. If the filler goes to the roof it self no. On my coupe I used material that is for a vinyl top. Only good stuff in white. Then for the trim I used hideum welt. Tacked in as needed. Before I put the hideum welt in place I ran some silicon sealer around the edges of the white material and on top of the tacks. Then tacked the hideum down. Only leaks in heavy rain are setting still in heavy rain.

Spend a little extra and get the United Pacific tack strip, it is identical to the original. While many of the others listed here do the job they just don't quite look original if that's important. UP part number B20101 $400.00 plus the ride.

The one I used Looks Just like the United Pacific part but it was already shaped to fit. But mine are aluminum and United Pacific are steel and their catalog says pre bent coming soon . I guess That means my original ones will soon be wortless

Juliano's are complete fuckin idiots !
I have one of their roof insert kits and have lost the capping on the trim strip. Due to me not having a receipt at present to show them or a photo to send them, they are refusing to SELL me a replacement - What the fuck ??
I have bought several sets of seatbelts from them in the past also, but i can assure you i will never spend another cent with Juliano's.
