Lookin' for some pictures or some ideas on a old skool look for my old 69 chevy stepside I know that it might be alittle new for a lot of your taste but it will be haulin' parts... any thing will be helpful . thanks folks.
about the oldest you are going to get is going with either the stock steel wheel look (not painted red..) or putting a set of cragers or early americans. any look earlier then that wont be right
Go Rent The Movie "dazed & Confused" And Copy The Chevy Truck On There.. Or Leave It Stock !!!!!!!!!!!
In '69 or '70 the real deal was pretty close to stock with wide tires on all 4 corners. Maybe a pin strip or two. I might lean in that direction or just put moderate meats on it with a stock lookin' or rally wheel. maybe a stripe or two. I wouldn't try and make it look early '60s because it just won't be right on it. its a wide-ish truck and wide it the way to go with it. Keep it clean and simple it'll be alright.
Once again, I think P-n-B is right on (and the only one trying to be helpful). Trying to make it into something that it plainly is not, well, not trying to be a dick but that's kinda lame. Not everything is meant to be a traditional rod & custom. Some decent wheels & tires (not some 26" inch bling shit, or red steelies with WWW's - something that matches the era) and you're pretty much done aesthetically. Torque thrusts would probably look pretty decent on that truck. I'd skip the white walls. And please, for the love of God don't do flat black with red wheels.
Thanks for all the help! I had some friends that wanted me to put 20s' on it and thats just not my style so i figured I would ask some like minded fokes... Thanks!
My 68 work truck is black and lowered with chrome steelies, cones and 1" WW's, it has a real sixties look.
I like those trucks done in the style you're talking about. There was a white one at the 06 HAMB drags. I thought I had a picture, but I can't find it. Look in the back ground of the Mini chopper picture, there's a pretty cool one there. Here's a picture of my S10. Dean
