I am looking for a Radiator to replace my 6cyl rad that was in the car. I looked in the search but everyone I see thats been suggested that should work for peoples application wont work on mine. Mine needs the bottom outlet to be on the P*** side but the top can pretty much be either side. The size has to be 19-3/4" Wide by 22 or maybe 23" Tall. The only one Ive found close is from summit but the lower hose inlet is on the wrong side. Anybody know where I might find one that will work? Thanks

I would think a local radiator shop could do that easily. Gerry

1964-66 Mustang V8 radiator has upper & lower necks on the p***enger side, they measure 18 1/2" wide X 20 1/4" tall. All you need to do is add a piece of flat stock with holes drilled to act as a spacer about a 30 minute EZ fix.

I would think that the original 6 cyl rad should be large enough to cool the 289, just move the inlet. If you know how to solder you could do it yourself. How about a '55-'56 V8 radiator with the inlet moved? Moving inlets and outlets is very common with engine swaps.

Thanks Guys I appreciate it I went ahead and ordered one for a 64 mustang like Jeff said It should work fine. Its funny, I called Summit, Jegs, and two radiator shops and no-one had a radiator this size but once Jeff told me what one that size came out of it was easy to find a million of them. Huh:confused:
Seems like Summit or jegs would have known that also or at least had those dimensions in there computer.

    I had a 55 a few years ago, put a 302 in it. I used a rad from a Dodge Dart.

Pretty typical that Jeg's or Summit phone guys didn't know that they probably were O'reilly and Autozone reject counter guys who know computers but don't know cars.Hey, but they work cheap! which seems to be the path a lot of businesses are taking these days which is pretty sad.

Yeah your right jeff, Heck I even called a local radiator shop who supposedly (From there ad) can do anything you need to a radiator and was told that making a 6cyl radiator into one that would work for a 8cyl cant be done....Sometimes it makes you scratch your head

On jeffs reccomendation i called Oscars Radiator in AZ. talked to oscar and im getting an all aluminum radiator (67 mustang) for 190 shipped to my door!!! plus has an integrated trans cooler. what a great guy to deal with!! i say talk to him if you dont mind an aluminum one. it has the ports on the p***enger side too. here are the dimensions

    core:16 tall 19.5 wide
    overall 20 5/8 high 22 wide.

which according to my measurements on the stock radiator is the exact same overall width. height is a little shorter. but with the better cooling with the aluminum i think it will work out just fine. he even has plenty in stock. that is what im doing. just a suggestion.

ill put some pics up as soon as i get it. in theory it should fit pretty well seeing as it mounts the same as the stock rad and the width is spot on. hopefully i wont have to many modifications to make it fit!!

My area to fit the radiator is 19-3/4" wide so I would have to cut it out to make that one fit. I will post some pics of the one that I ordered also hopefully it will fit without much fabing
