Im starting to get ready to do the wiring on the rod and Ive been looking at a few different harnesses

I would prefer to have 1 that is pre wired and ready to go

I dont need to many circuits as I am not running power windows or locks no air or heat no electric fan etc.
basically the bare minimum with an electric fuel pump

Ive seen the one at the hot rod shop
they look good and are at a good price

let me know if anyone recommends anything else

Your plan is too bare, you may not need the extra circuts now, but you may need the elec fan someday and your opinion of other extras may change to,

also if you sell the car someday not being able to install some upgrades by the new owner may reduce your value,

i used "painless wiring harness" on my 37

I got a Haywire Pro T kit. It's cheap and made pretty well. I like it.

hey I used american autowire on two of my latest projects and realy was simple to understand the instructions.I also used a painless kit on a dodge and it was painful

  6. X2. Simple, inexpensive and GREAT support. Hard to beat that!! I went with a 9+3 and could not be happier.

x3. I went with the 14 circuit version, even though I didn't need it. The only "issue" I have is there is no fuse directory.....if my tail light fuse blows, I have to search to find the blown fuse. Not a big deal, but a directory would be helpful.

Edit: Glenn says the kits DO come with a sticky-back directory. I must have lost mine. I'm ordering a replacement today! Thanks Glenn!!

  9. Go to the web and punch in "4wheelinjunkie" they have an 11 circuit harness for $85.00 + the ride, which includes a 50 amp relay circuit for an electric fan or fuel pump. It is pretty basic, the wires are stamped and the instructions are easy to follow. I used one in a '40 Ford pickup and was pleased with it. Just my $.02

Rebel Wire - I got tech help from the owner on a Sunday afternoon. No complaints about the quality or price either.

Rebel Wire. Did my whole truck headlights to taillights with their 9+3 harness. I haven't even needed the 3 additional circuits yet as the 9 circuits includes everything for a basic job like radio and stuff. Very high quality kit at an affordable price. No, it doesn't include all the switches and special connectors that other $500+ kits might have, but those aren't hard to find and it makes the installation more flexible for you anyway.

I didn't need to call them for any help. I thought I would, but it turned out to be simple enough for me to figure out and I've never rewired anything before. According to others, they do have great phone support though.

EDIT: One thing I want to add is that it took me longer than I expected to completely rewire my truck. I thought I would be done in a few days from the moment I ripped out the rats nest old wiring, but it ended up taking about a week (working afternoons after work). When it comes to wiring, I made sure to take my time, and NOT BE IN A RUSH, because if you do rush you will just be creating problems for yourself later. A professional looking job involves wire looms, proper cutting/crimping/soldering, etc. Do it right the first time and it'll work and look great for a long time.

    Ralphie...
Looks like your project is perfect for one of our 9+3 harnesses. It will give you all the circuits to wire up the basics and 3 open circuits for other options like electric fuel pump or electric fan. If you run a modern radio you'll need a radio constant too and can use one of the open circuits for that. If you have any questions or want to get the Hamb discount give me a call at 618-395-8216. Evenings are best right now.
