Since there are no replys from anyone, I will put my $0.02 in. Now, I really like my Edlebrock carbs and had them on my blown Hemi for awhile. Some people say you just dont go fast with Eddys, but I had street cars running low 10's in a 1/4, so I think that was pretty good. But... my Hemi would just not dial in to where I wanted it to be. I now just bit the bullet and bought a set of Quick Fuel 750 blower carbs. I had to change to bigger squirters and changed the cams, and I can honestly say, WOW! This motor is all muscle and I picked up 2 pounds of boost with them. Spend the money on good blower carbs and save yourself the hassle. Eddys will work and work ok, but if you want it to really work, dont do it. I would still run Eddys on non-forced induction motors.
2 edelbrock 500's. You will never flow more than a 1000 cfm on a 327 in a bucket t and live to tell about it. They will work great with no modification and start up everytime.
I am a fan of QuickFuel boost referenced carbs. They are the best in my opinion. Edelbrocks are good carbs, but not for a blower set-up.
I think most everyone has hit on the secret for a good street driven blown car - carbs with boost referenced power valves. And you can do that easy with Holley style carbs. Good luck.
I'll throw this out there.... I'm a cheap ass...and find 30-40 buck edelbrock 600's at swaps all the time. Check out page 9 here.... http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_new/mc/carbs_acc/pdf/carb_owners_manual.pdf This is simple and cheap to do about 80 bucks in parts and a couple 30 dollar carb kits and your in business. your slightly on the smaller motor size, but this is my 383 and she ran just a tad on the rich side so we are ok. Made awesome power, it's a street car so i don't need mega power or super high dollar carbs to make good street power...although i'm not sure what your looking for. Tilt your head sideways and enjoy.... yah 608 hp and 602 tq
I agree with all above. Eddys will work fine and are MUCH less expensive. Just follow their guideline for setting them up for blower application and bolt them on. They will be very close. Run an air/fuel monitor, cause lean conditions will kill it. Like I said, I ran them for a long time, but I knew the motor had more potential. The Quick Fuel carbs brought it all out and I am LOV'N it! (they also look great)
I ran 2 500 Carters (Edelbrocks) on my old 32 with a 283 and 6-71. Took some tuning (especially due to the small cubes) but once i got it set up it ran absolutely prefect. I ran it a touch rich but NEVER had an issue loading up etc etc. In fact i ran the same plugs for 2 or 3 years and only changed them because i wanted to. I'm doing a much hotter small journal 327 now with a 6-71 and that too will be running 2 500 Edelbrocks. Just my 2 cents. Tony
