I'm currently building a 50 chevy pickup for a customer. He wants to run chevy bolt pattern wheels (5x4.75) and wants to have disc brakes in the rear.... Was wondering if any of you had any suggestions on what would be a descent rearend to use....

  2. 78-81 Camaro/Firebird 10-bolt. Should be a drop in if you're keeping the stock springs.

    Next choice might be later S10 Blazer/Olds Bravada/etc -

Beyond that it depends on what kind of power you're putting through it.

Talk him out of it. Rear discs are a pain in the ass. You will have to hook up the parking brake (if you can find some decent cables) and make sure he uses it regularly. if he doesnt, the pads won't stay adjusted and not long after that the pucks will freeze up and you'll have to deal with that too. Or, go ahead in put one in and look at it as job security.

Call Cass (Dr Diff) and see if he can help or point you to someone who can. His kit on my 66 Coronet came with replacement parking brake cables that fit the stock setup. Been on there 5+ years. They work great and I didn't need the POS "green bearings", I kept the stock taper rollers and adjusters in the Mopar 8.75"

I had been looking for a bravada rearend & had zero luck finding one, but like 15 minutes after posting this question, I ran across a 4x4 s10 rearend and went & scooped it up...
    Thanks fellas
