I've just finished installing new king pins in my 41' Ford convertible and noticed both front grease seals have been leaking. I'm using 52' Ford F-1 hubs and brakes on my stock 41' Ford spindles. I know there is a special seal you use for this application but I'll be damned if I can find the part # in any of my notes. I thought I had one which is pt # NA 450273 / new # 15766 (got this from an old magazine article ) but the thickness ( 1/2" ) is different from the one I removed which is only 5/16" thick. Thinking I maybe had the wrong seals in there I went ahead and installed the 45073 seal only to find it bottomed out with about a 1/16" sticking out from the end of the hub and the inner bearing is jammed where it won't spin freely. So...would anyone happen to know the part number for these grease seals? Thanks, Art
No markings on the seal. This blows my mind since I have two cars with the same set up, F-1 brakes w/ early Ford spindles, now after all these years I can't find the right grease seals. Need to keep better records.
with F1/F100 hubs on `37-`48 ford spindles i always use national #473441 i have seen other numbers recommended , but most are for sealing on a 1-1/2" OD surface and not the 1-9/16" that the ford spindles are
