I run 1953 - 56 F-100 front brakes.... need a couple dust caps on the hubs ... do you have a Ford or a Mr. Gasket part number for this item?

I have a couple numbers but the application information is confusing.

Call Mid Fifties and have them send you a couple. Done deal.
Easy folks to do business with.

Went to NAPA yesterday, they had no info on their computer (my other local NAPA store may have it, they have old catalogs), but a LHC/AZ member gave me the Ford number...
    51A-1139

    Thanks All.

UPDATE: Neither NAPA had 51A-1139 nor one for 53 - 56 F-100 hub application ... the closest they had was NAPA #735-1424 which is for a 1-31/32 ID hub (1.969") which is too large (I tried it), the needed part is 1-15/16 (1.9375").
I will be mail-ordering the part.

UPDATE #2: OK I ordered a couple from Vintage Ford & Street Rod Parts in Duarte, CA. Same Ford number, 42 - 56 Ford front hub application. Good service and quick shipping but no fit !! These seem to be the 1-31/32 caps everyone carries. Think I will look for original old ones.

  9. That's a common problem with most auto parts houses,,if they can't find it on a computer they don't have a clue.

The Napa I deal with has been in the same place as long as I can remember and there are still a couple of guy older than me that know how to use there parts books,,they are still lined up across the counter. HRP

  10. and what "book" would you look in to find a dust cap for a 55 f-100?

Thank You Kind Sir! all I have to do now is lie about what I'm building :D Not like I don't do that already (to computers)

  14. And not one of those 3261 applications is for the '53-'56 F-100 (also '40-'48 Ford & F-1) cap we are talking about, unless you know how to fit a 1.790" cap onto a 1-15/16" hub.

And all the trailer grease caps at NAPA, O'Reilly, Auto Zone, Pioneer Rim, etc
    don't fit either.

But still good info here -- I now have the Ford part number and the diameter, so I should be good to go in finding it. Thanks to all and to 2racer for sources.

They are 1 15/16" plus or minus, just measured one.

    Mid Fifties PN 1312--$5.00 each

Big Brown truck will drop them off at your door.

    Easy Peasy.
