    if it's your specialty.... & just a nod to 60's Clint Eastwood film;

    Jeff's Hang 'em Low Automotive Specialties (or leave off the Specialties part)

    (personally, I never liked long business names)

    Is it the name that makes the shop? or is it the shop that makes the name?
    Years ago this guy I knew was builing high end car sound systems and offered a complete system to someone who could provide a name that would excell his business to the level of "Alpine" stereos. Drive by the building and it just has ALPINE on the wall, but everyone knows what it is and the quality they produced.
    You can get quality work from "Dog **** Kustoms" and ****py work from "Elete Rodz"
    If I had to come up with a name that would promote interest and not sound like I was trying too hard(and Hot Rod shops come and go everyday) I would use "Area 21" and let the work produced bring the name to the top of the market

    From your avatar "Middle Finger Rod Shop" might be a great name.

    How about "Groovy Go-Jobs". It carries a little of the 50's and 60's theme.

    How about "The Rod Squad".

  16. Your not going get to many sponsorships or "that a boys" from the community, with middle fingers, crude shop names & the like, especially when your espousing (did I spell that correctly Diavolo?) to help under priviledged kids.

  19. That being the case it is not wise to do the same on the net, they do research things anymore.

    That said Panneton Bros makes a good point here. I did non for profit work for a few years and you do get a lot of scrutiny over and above the average Joe when it comes to support both financial and moral.

    A friend of mine has a shop in Fayetteville, Arkansas called simply, Hobby Shop Auto Repair.
    He stays very busy and I never cease to be amazed at the wide variety of antique cars, hot rods and customs he gets in his shop.

    Once this shop is up and running, I welcome anyone to come down and build.

    I also will not suggest a name, but whatever name you choose has to represent the mission you are trying to promote, and the kind of influence you want these kids to live and learn under. If your project is successful, it will become a part of the current and all the future kids' life & memories. The name you choose will also determine what kind of people that will show up at your doors. Take the name choice seriously.
    A unique name is easier for people to remember, and the business will make or break the name. If you have an investor willing to donate funds towards your project, be sure you run a few name choices by him, you want to be sure he is comfortable with the name of the place he is investing in. 28. I'm not busting your balls, just pointing out that a "mentoring" Hot Rod Shop ain't gonna go far, or get to much backing if any wording or company logo says "**** YOU" **** OFF" or **** ANYTHING.., no matter how funny anyone on the HAMB thinks it is. Going back to Diavolo's hack on the spelling of some of my name ideas, if I was looking for a specialty auto shop of any type who's logo told me to go **** MYSELF, I'd keep driving/searching too. As my good friend Forest Gump say's.., "that's all I have to say about that".
